For those that haven't heard, we lost an animal-loving icon, Dolly Parton.

She was one of a kind, undeniably cheeky, effervescently herself. She taught us how to be independent, how to deal with the daily grind, how to deal with a man-stealer, and how to be accepting of everyone (especially ourselves).

Eagle Mountain Sanctuary: Located at Dollywood, this large aviary was built in partnership with the American Eagle Foundation in 1991 to house non-releasable bald eagles.

U.S. Fish & Service Award: Her conservation work for the national bird earned her the Partnership Award from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in 2003.

Doggy Parton Line: She launched a pet apparel and accessories brand where a portion of the proceeds directly benefits Willa B. Farms, a non-profit animal rescue in Tennessee.
