You can help protect wildlife by observing animals from a safe distance, keeping pets supervised outdoors, securing trash, and never feeding wild animals. If you find an animal that appears injured or orphaned, avoid handling it and contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator for guidance.

**Labor Day Holiday Hours**

Our appointments are filling up fast, so please don’t wait until the last minute to schedule your pet’s visit!

Big Bend Animal Hospital will close at **1:00 PM on Saturday, September 5**, and reopen at **8:00 AM on Tuesday, September 8**.

Please plan ahead for appointments, medication refills, and anything else your pet may need before the holiday weekend. Call us with any questions—we’re happy to help!

Today, we pause to remember the beloved pets who are no longer by our sides but will remain forever in our hearts.

They were never “just pets.” They were family members, loyal companions, best friends, protectors, comforters, and a source of unconditional love. They filled our homes with joy, left paw prints throughout our lives, and taught us that even the smallest moments can become treasured memories.

Although saying goodbye is one of the hardest parts of loving an animal, the bond we share with them never truly disappears. It lives on in the stories we tell, the photographs we cherish, and the love they helped us carry forward.
