The Aratinga Conure Aviary has Openings!

The Aratinga Conure Aviary is a rescue and parrot sanctuary based out of the Tampa Bay Region, founded in 2019. We service the entire state of Florida with Permits to Possess Class III Wildlife.

We specialize in parrot education and rehabilitation while providing forever homes for parrots of most backgrounds, included but not limited to; abandoned, abused, babies, breeders, disabled, feral, forgotten, hospice, inherited, neglected, special-needs, and wild.

We offer all of our birds the ability to grow and adapt to whatever comes their way. We are also a member of the Exotic Pet Amnesty Program for Floridians.

We love our parrots! Destruction, screaming, and all! 🦜 📣

I am a 21st century parrot

I am an African Grey.
My large flock once soared miles across the forest canopy.
Today, I sit alone in a cage, screaming for the family I lost.

I am a Macaw.
My beak was built to crush palm nuts, my wings to fly over rivers.
Today, I am clipped, bored, and scolded for chewing your furniture.

I am a Cockatoo.
My voice was meant to carry across miles to my flock.
Today, I am called “too loud” and locked away or covered to achieve silence.

I am a Budgie.
In the wild, my flock numbers in the thousands.
Today, I am left alone in a tiny cage, slowly fading away.

I am a Conure.
I am curious, playful, and full of fire.
Today, I am punished for biting, when all I want is your time.

I am a parrot.
I am not a decoration.
I am not a toy.
I am not a quiet, easy pet.

I am intelligent, loud, destructive, affectionate, demanding, and alive with instincts shaped over millions of years.

When you cage me alone, I scream.
When you ignore me, I pluck.
When you deny my nature, I break.

If you love me, if my colors and my brilliance draw you in, if choosing to speak your language makes me the only thing you are after, please remember this: I am still wild at heart.

Do not buy or adopt me if you cannot honor who I truly am.

Do not buy me. Adopt me with a friend that I have a say in. Allow me choices.

💀🕯️ Día de los Mu***os 🕯️💀

Today we pause to celebrate and remember all the incredible souls—human and feathered—who have flown over the Rainbow Bridge. 🌈

The Day of the Dead isn’t about sadness, it’s about love that never leaves. We honor every parrot who made our lives brighter with their colors, laughter, and chaos. 💚💛💙 From the smallest budgie to the biggest macaw, each left their mark on our hearts.

John and I personally have several wonderful feathered friends who are no longer with us, as well as some beautiful souls from AHW. Each one left behind memories that still make us smile and stories we’ll treasure forever. 💖

So light a candle, share a memory, and celebrate the joy they brought. Their wings may no longer beat, but their spirit still soars through every squawk, every cuddle, and every sunrise chorus. 🕊️
