This face right here. Peeking over a pumpkin twice her size, one eye squinting into the sunshine, absolutely thrilled about a vegetable. That is the energy we are bringing into fall.

There is something so good about a season your dog can actually be part of. Pumpkin is one of the rare fall things that is genuinely great for them too. Naturally rich in fiber, full of beta carotene and potassium, and gentle enough that most sensitive tummies handle it beautifully.

Our Pumpkin Bites take real pumpkin and vegan superfoods, bake them in small batches, and skip everything else. No top allergens. No additives. No preservatives. Just a treat that makes your dog do that little happy shuffle.

❤️ Grab a bag at marcyspetkitchen.com and let your dog have a favorite season too. Show us their pumpkin face in the comments.

We talk a lot about what dogs eat, but not enough about why. And just like us, dogs can overeat when they're stressed.

When a dog feels anxious being left alone too long, rattled by thunderstorms, bored, or unsettled by a change at home, food becomes comfort. It's not true hunger. It's the canine version of stress snacking, where eating soothes the nervous system for a moment even though the belly is already full.

Some dogs will inhale their meal and immediately hunt for more. Others start obsessing over the treat jar, counter surfing, or begging far beyond their normal habits. A few swing the other way and lose their appetite entirely. All of it can be the same root cause: stress looking for an outlet.

And it adds up quietly. According to the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention, 59% of dogs in the U.S. are now overweight or have obesity. The tricky thing is that stress eating hides in plain sight. We read that eager face at the bowl as a healthy appetite, when sometimes it's really a dog asking for reassurance, not another helping.

Once you recognize it as an emotional signal rather than genuine hunger, you can respond to the real need, which may be more enrichment, more routine, more calm; instead of more food.

Because at Marcy's Pet Kitchen, we believe every ingredient ,and every moment should have a purpose. Real food. Real benefits. Real healthy.

Pumpkin has earned its reputation as one of the most dog friendly foods in the kitchen, and the reason comes down to fiber. Pumpkin is rich in soluble fiber, which absorbs water in the digestive tract and helps add form and consistency to stool. That is why it may support dogs on both ends of the spectrum, whether things are moving too fast or not moving enough.

There is more going on than fiber, though. Pumpkin is a good source of beta carotene, which the body converts to vitamin A to help support healthy vision and skin. It also delivers vitamin C, vitamin E, and potassium, plus a good dose of moisture. All of that comes in a naturally low calorie package, which makes pumpkin an easy addition for dogs who are watching their waistline.

A few notes from our kitchen. Plain pumpkin is the goal, not pie filling, which is loaded with sugar and spices that dogs do not need. Fiber is powerful stuff, so more is not better, and a little goes a long way.

❤️ Every ingredient has a purpose. Pumpkin earns its place in our Pumpkin Bites because it does real work for real dogs. 🛒 Shop our Pumpkin Bites today at marcyspetkitchen.com

Barkley went on a field trip to Doggone Holistic and immediately clocked in.

Nobody asked him to inspect the shelves. Nobody asked him to walk the full perimeter, check the inventory, or supervise the front counter. He did it anyway, in a bee shirt, at a pace that suggested he had somewhere important to be. By minute three I stopped feeling like a customer and started feeling like I was accompanying a district manager on a surprise visit.

Then came the part he was actually there for. Turns out that with hard work comes treats and rewards, and Barkley has never once let a sample tray go unsampled. He has earned this. He would like you to know he is available for future shifts, weekends included, compensation negotiable but must include snacks. 🤣

Real talk for a second. Stores like Doggone Holistic are where a lot of us learn to actually read a label, because someone behind the counter is willing to walk you through it. That is the whole reason Marcy's Pet Kitchen exists. Barkley's allergies sent me down that rabbit hole years ago and I never climbed back out. All natural, small batch, and every ingredient in the bag has a purpose.

Beat the summer heat with a treat that does double duty 🧊 Hydrating Ginger Pops!

Summers are no joke, so we whipped up a simple, hydrating treat that helps cool your pup down and supports a happy tummy: Hydrating Ginger Pops!

Ginger isn't just refreshing, it's a functional powerhouse. Here's what it can do for your dog:
• Settles the stomach
• Supports digestion
• Anti-inflammatory support
• Antioxidant boost

How to make them at home:
Peel and slice a small piece of fresh ginger. Steep it in hot water on the stove, like a gentle tea.
Let it cool completely to room temperature. Strain out all the ginger pieces as you just want the infused water. Pour into treat molds (or an ice cube tray).
Freeze until solid, then serve!

That's the whole idea behind Marcy's Pet Kitchen: real ingredients, with real purpose. Even a budget-friendly, simple ice cube can do some good.

Real food. Real benefits. Real healthy. 💛

Orange you glad it's pumpkin season?

The whippet says yes. Loudly. From the ottoman that matches his snack.

Here is the thing about pumpkin. It is not just a fall mood, it is genuinely one of the most dog-friendly ingredients out there. Pumpkin is naturally rich in soluble fiber, which may help support healthy digestion and firmer stools. It brings beta carotene, vitamin A, potassium and a little natural moisture along for the ride. And most dogs think it tastes like a treat, which makes the whole thing easy.

Our Pumpkin Bites are all natural, gluten free, baked in small batches here in the USA, and crafted with vegan superfoods. No top allergens, no additives, no preservatives. Just real pumpkin and a short list of ingredients that each earn their spot.

❤️ 🛒 Stock up on pumpkin season at marcyspetkitchen.com. Then tell us, is your dog a pumpkin fan or a peanut butter loyalist?

Is your pup drinking enough water?

Keeping our dogs hydrated can feel like a guessing game, especially when they’ve been zooming around the yard or baking in the summer sun!

In this video you will hear the super simple "Golden Rule" that Veterinarians actually use a to figure out a dog's baseline daily water needs:

If your pup eats dry kibble or just isn't a big fan of the water bowl, you can sneak extra moisture into their day with these dog-safe, water-dense treats:
• Cucumbers: About 95% water!
• Watermelon: Sitting at 92% water.
• Celery: High water content and great for weight management.

👇 Drop a comment below: How much does your fur baby weigh, and what is their favorite hydrating snack? (Mine is obsessed with cucumbers! 🥒)

Bison isn't just a novel protein, it's a powerhouse. Lean, rich, and easy to love, it's a favorite for dogs who need something a little different from the usual chicken or beef.

Here's what makes it shine:
• Lean & protein-packed bison is naturally leaner than beef, delivering high-quality protein without the extra fat.
• Nutrient-dense and a great source of iron, zinc, and B vitamins that support energy and overall vitality.
• A smart novel protein for pups with sensitivities to common proteins, bison offers a fresh, gentle alternative worth trying.

It's exactly the kind of clean, purposeful ingredient we build around with real food that does real work. Every ingredient has a purpose.

We are excited to share that we are coming out with a bison treat!

Ever glance at the cilantro and dill in your fridge and wonder if your dog could share? Good news: both of these everyday herbs can be lovely little add-ins for your pup.

Cilantro is quietly impressive. It brings vitamins A, C, and K along with antioxidants, and it's traditionally been valued for helping settle an upset stomach. It's also a natural breath freshener, so a tiny sprinkle can gently take the edge off that unmistakable doggy breath.

Dill earns its spot too. It's gentle on the tummy and has long been used to help ease gas and bloating and a nice friend for sensitive stomachs like Barkley's. It carries its own antioxidants and adds a little fresh-breath boost as well.

The golden rule with both: fresh, finely chopped, and just a pinch. These are toppers, not meals and a small amount goes a long way. And as always, check in with your vet before introducing anything new.
