🌿 Bitty Bramble Update 🌿
Little Bramble has decided that apparently having a momma with perfectly good milk is simply not his preferred dining arrangement. 😂
This tiny guy will root and root trying to find a place to nurse, but once he gets there, he just can’t seem to stay latched. He’ll nurse for 20–30 seconds, wiggle his little head around, complain about the service and eventually fall asleep. 🤦♀️
Unfortunately, that meant he wasn’t gaining weight and had actually started to lose a little.
So… Momma Amber’s 24-hour milk bar is officially OPEN. 🍼😴
Bramble is getting 5 mL of puppy formula every two hours, around the clock. Yesterday my tiny boy weighed just 4.2 ounces.
Today?
4.6 OUNCES! 🎉🥹
That may not sound like much, but when the entire puppy barely weighs more than a stick of butter, four-tenths of an ounce is cause for celebration around here. 😂
I still can’t find anything obviously wrong with him. He’s warm, active, roots like crazy and has a good little suck — he just can’t seem to manage nursing from Momma well enough to get what he needs.
We’ve checked his little mouth, and it’s been suggested that there could be something teeny-tiny like a subtle cleft that isn’t easily visible, or he may simply be too bitty to battle his brothers for the golden nectar. 😂🍼 Either way, we’re aware of the possibilities and keeping a very close eye on him 🫶
For now, Bramble has discovered that room service arrives every two hours, requires absolutely no fighting with his brothers, and is apparently quite satisfactory — because 4.2 ounces yesterday became 4.6 ounces today! 🎉
So until further notice, I am his personal waitress.
Every. Two. Hours.
Day and night. 😵💫☕️🍼
But LOOK AT HIM. 🥹
Bitty Bramble — 4.6 ounces of determination, sass and a very full belly. 🌿🤎
