Some heroes walk on four legs.

Today, we honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the search and rescue dogs who stood beside their handlers during one of our nation’s darkest days. They searched, served, and comforted when they were needed most.

Their courage, loyalty, and dedication will always be remembered. 🇺🇸🐾

‼️ PLAY YARD REPAIRS ‼️

Tomorrow and Wednesday, our big yard will be inaccessible while we have some fencing repairs completed.

During this time, any big dogs in our care will be rotating in small groups. Playtime for big dogs will also be more limited than usual during these two days.

Please also note that there will be no dogs visible on the Big Yard we**am while the fencing repairs are underway.

Thank you for your understanding while we get everything fixed and ready for the pups to enjoy again! 🐶 💙

Proudly working with the Riverside County Department of Animal Services to provide temporary housing and care for dogs and puppies participating in lifesaving transport efforts.

The dogs, of all ages, are coming from overcrowded Southern California shelters and are headed across the country to other rescue partners where they have adoptions waiting for them. Best Friends Animal Society has been a continued supporter and the most recent support for transport came from Brandywine Valley SPCA’s Second Chance Program.

A few of these lucky pups made an appearance at the Astra TV Awards in Los Angeles, where they walked the red carpet and got some very special close-ups with celebrities.

We’re honored to be a small part of their journey and to give these pups a safe and comfortable place to stay while they prepare for their big adventure!
