❄️🐾 Winter’s Road to Recovery! 🐾❄️
Winter came to us with a urinary blockage, a painful and potentially life-threatening emergency that prevents a pet from being able to urinate normally. 🚨
To treat his blockage, Winter was sedated and carefully catheterized to relieve the obstruction and allow his bladder to empty. He received hospitalization, supportive care, including IV fluids and medications, while we closely monitored his ability to urinate and his overall condition. 🩺💙
After treatment and monitoring, we’re happy to say that Winter is now urinating on his own and doing much better! 🎉 He has officially been sent home with his family to continue recovering.
We’re so happy to see Winter feeling better! 🥰🐾

Sweet Jax came in for a cystotomy, a surgical procedure to remove bladder stones. 🐶🩺 Thankfully, our team was able to remove the stones and get Jax on the road to recovery! 🥰
🪨 How do bladder stones form?
Bladder stones develop when minerals in the urine come together and form crystals. Over time, these crystals can grow into stones. Several factors can contribute, including diet, urine pH, dehydration, urinary tract infections, genetics, and certain medical conditions.
💧 Can bladder stones be prevented?
While prevention depends on the type of stone, some helpful steps include:
• Keeping your pet well-hydrated 💦
• Feeding a veterinarian-recommended diet when appropriate 🥣
• Treating urinary tract infections promptly
• Providing regular opportunities to urinate
• Following your veterinarian’s recommendations for urine testing and monitoring

🐾🩺 Yumak came in after hurting his paw! 🐶💙
Yumak was sedated so we could safely examine his leg and take radiographs, which were sent out for further evaluation. He received anti-inflammatory and antibiotic injections, and we splinted and bandaged his leg to help keep it protected while he heals. 🩹🐾
He also went home with a cone, pain and anti-inflammatory medications, and a topical preventative to help keep him comfortable and protected. 💙
