Done 'N Dun Ranch My horsemanship program focuses on creating a solid foundation of both horse and rider; though my passion will always be barrel racing! Or just try new things?

I have been coaching for 25+ years, always aiming for a positive and supportive atmosphere! Are you looking to improve your riding abilities? Gain confidence on a new or existing mount? I have been riding, training, coaching, judging, and competing for 30+ years. My horsemanship program focuses on creating a solid foundation of both horse and rider, so you will have the knowledge to move forward in any discipline. I have successfully coached students to wins in Barrels, 4-H English Equation, 4-H Western Equation, and various levels of Trail events. I have also trained horses that have been successful under me then went on to successful and winning careers with youth riders, both in the show ring and barrels. I take pride in helping students gain confidence, train and develop their personal horses, and learn to ride new styles and acquire new skills. My last ISO was a (likely) success, so let's try again! We have a well-loved friend looking to slow down (not available, he stays with them forever) and a handy 12 year old looking for a new best friend.

6-12 Quarter Horse. Would consider other stock types (paint, appy etc.)
Broke and kind, she isn't looking for a trainer's project. No buck, bolt nonsense.
Looking to do barrels, poles, rodeo, trail, gaming, fair, lessons, etc….doesn’t have to be patterned.
Good mind, good feet, good build.
No founder, no soundness issues, no cribber.
12 year old experienced girl wanting a best friend that’s a step up from our steady old guy! 8k or less.

I’ve been reading quite a few comments recently criticising people for not doing things “correctly” with their horses.

Now don’t get me wrong, everything we do should be ethical, fair and with the horse’s best interests at the forefront.

But when someone posts their first attempt at a leg yield, their first flying change, or something else they’ve been working towards and it’s not perfect… so what?

Was your first one perfect? Were your first few perfect? If they were, please show us 😂 and I hope they’re still perfect now!

Sometimes I think social media has made us scared to get things wrong.

My motto has always been… go and try it. Make it fun. Get it wrong sometimes. Learn from it. Come back and try again.

None of us start at the finished product, horses included.

Ultimately, it’s about learning and growing together. That’s surely what training is supposed to be about.🐴
