Ringing doorbells… costumed strangers… Halloween
can be especially spooky for pets. If yours isn’t a fan,
set up a quiet room with soft music, blankets, and
favorite toys. Just in case they sneak out, make sure
their ID tag and microchip info are up to date. Does
your pet love Halloween or hide from it?

Continuity of Care
Whether your pet is recovering from surgery or starting
a new medication, follow-up visits are key to the
healing process. These appointments give us a chance
to see how they’re progressing and adjust their plan if
needed. You know your pet best! If you notice a change
or have questions, don’t wait to reach out. No concern
is too small.

Year-Round Parasite Prevention
Cooler weather doesn’t mean parasites are packing
their bags. Fleas love your heated home just as much
as you do, and ticks are happy to wait out the cold
temperatures under leaves and wood piles. Don’t let
fall fool you! All pets need year-round prevention,
including those who live indoors.

legal requirement helps us make informed decisions

WORLD RABIES DAY — SEPTEMBER 28 🐾

Rabies is one of those diseases we don't think about very often — until we need to.

Rabies is almost always fatal once symptoms appear, but the good news is that it is 100% preventable through vaccination and proper response to exposure.

Here in the United States, human rabies cases are rare thanks in large part to routine vaccination of our pets, animal control programs and public health efforts. But rabies is still found in wildlife across the country.

are among the animals most commonly found with rabies in the U.S. In fact, more than 90% of reported rabies cases in animals occur in wildlife.

Did you know? Hawaii is the ONLY U.S. state that is rabies-free. Rabies is found in wildlife throughout the other 49 states.

That is why keeping your pets current on their rabies vaccination is so important. Your pet's vaccine doesn't just protect them — it also helps protect your family and your community.

And remember: if your pet has contact with a wild animal, or you are bitten or scratched by an animal that could have rabies, don't wait. Contact your veterinarian and/or local health department right away.

Rabies is preventable. Vaccinate. Protect. Prevent.

Declawing
“It’s just removing their nails, right?” Nope. Declawing
means surgically removing the last bone of each toe,
which can lead to chronic pain and litter box avoidance.
For cats, scratching is a normal behavior! Here are
friendlier alternatives:
- Regular nail trims
- Nail caps
- Scratching posts
- Pheromone products

UPDATE:
We have some VERY exciting news to share… Gigi has gone home!

She has found a wonderful potential family who opened their hearts and home to her, and she is officially on a little trial run to see how everyone settles in together. From everything we’ve seen so far, we are feeling very hopeful that Gigi may have finally found her forever home. ️

Of course, we want to give them time to make sure it’s the perfect fit for everyone. And if for any reason it doesn’t work out, Gigi will come back to us and we’ll continue searching for the right family for her.

But for now… we’re crossing our fingers, saying our prayers, and hoping this is the happily-ever-after Gigi has been waiting for.

Thank you to everyone who shared her story, asked about her, loved her, and helped us get her to this point. It truly takes a village.

Go be happy, sweet Gigi. We’re rooting for you!

Meet GiGi

GiGi is a sweet 12-year-old Chihuahua who was recently surrendered to our clinic by her owner because of health concerns. She doesn’t see or hear very well these days, but that hasn’t stopped her from enjoying the simple things in life.

GiGi is happiest when she’s comfortable, cozy, and relaxing in a soft bed. She doesn’t ask for much—just a safe place to rest, gentle companionship, and someone who will love and care for her in her senior years.

She would love a quiet home with someone who understands that senior pets may need a little extra patience and care. In return, GiGi will give you the sweetest kind of companionship.

GiGi is looking for someone special to give her a loving, comfortable home for the rest of her life.
