🐾 Meet Buddy 🐾

Buddy is a smart, energetic boy with the most expressive ears looking for a home that's the right fit for his needs. His guardian is making the incredibly difficult decision to find him a more compatible environment where he can continue to thrive. We're sharing Buddy in hopes of helping him and his amazing guardian find the best possible match.

Buddy is currently working on:
• Building better social skills around new people
• Loose-leash walking and calmly dismissing distractions on walks
• Learning how to safely and appropriately navigate exciting environments
• Assessing his comfort and play style with other dogs

Buddy would do best with:
✔️ A dog-savvy adopter
✔️ A predictable and consistent environment
✔️ Slow introductions to new people and situations

Buddy is an incredibly loving dog with so much potential in the right home. He enjoys training and making new dog friends.

To help set Buddy and his future family up for success, adopters will receive:
• A 90-minute transfer lesson
• One 60-minute follow-up session
• Ongoing support from our team

Your weekly peek at daycare adventures! 🐾☀️

It was a busy week around here and the dogs made the most of every minute! We enjoyed our first full week with the new turf, welcomed Dr. Julia Manor and students from Ripon College for their observational daycare study, and packed the days full of enrichment and fun.

This week’s enrichment blocks included:
🐾 Practicing practical surfaces like stairs and ramps
🐾 Food toys and lickable enrichment
🐾 Water enrichment (definitely becoming a summer favorite)
🐾 As part of the Ripon College study, participating dogs were also pulled for enrichment sessions focused on an activity designed to better understand dogs’ responses to unexpected rewards

A big thank you to our favorite handymen for installing a serious upgrade to our outdoor space!

This turf upgrade from pea gravel was at the top of our list for safety, comfort, and sanitation, and we’re so excited to finally have it in place.

We’re really grateful for the support that made this possible. Our clients and the A Dog’s Tale community have helped us grow in so many ways, and this is just one example of what that support looks like in action. We appreciate all the trust, encouragement, and continued support we receive every day—more than we can put into words.

We can’t wait for you to see it this weekend at socials and for the dogs to enjoy the new space right here in daycare!

A quick reminder that our collaboration with Ripon College kicked off this week! You may notice some new friendly faces around the daycare over the next few weeks as we welcome Dr. Julia Manor and students from the Ripon College Psychology Department.

They will be observing dog behavior as part of an educational study focused on understanding play in daycare settings and how dogs respond to an unexpected reward. Everything will remain business as usual for the dogs — the study is completely non-invasive, and participation is entirely optional with consent provided in advance.

We’re excited to have them join us and to contribute to ongoing learning that helps us continue improving not only our own daycare practices, but also broader understanding and standards across the dog daycare industry.
