Pickles (2) has changed so much in his training and being able to work on adjustability has been incredibly fun and rewarding. I am over the moon with this boy.

Ivy had her first ever canter under saddle today and it was soft and balanced and a wonderful experience. A truly rewarding day in the barn again ❤️ every horse got worked and bathed on this beautiful fall day.

June 28➡️ October 3

The horses body and muscles tell such a story and are such important pieces of the puzzle to unlocking the horse’s full potential. A properly developing trapezius, and harsh lines disappearing are all beautifully authentic signs a horse is improving. But under development of muscles, pain lines , uneven hoof growth etc are all sign of discomfort that must be explored to achieve correct development.

Sweet pickles today working on reaching a deeper connection through the trot. Love this mare and how she’s developing! Always so willing and soft.

Little baby Ivy learning to do big girl things slowly and confidently. This 3 year old was slowly started under saddle here and she is making great progress brick by brick. She has already changed so much in her brain, her confidence has grown and she is smart and naturally very balanced. She was not the most straight forward start, I could feel that one wrong push in the wrong timing could cause an explosion that would in turn scare her. I believe slow and steady is the best way with all horses. Fitness is such a big piece of them feeling confident in their body, things must be progressive and tailored to each horse and their needs.

I have been enjoying starting babies so much this year it’s been truly pure joy! Ivy yawns at the end of each ride and she always leaves wanting more. I love that about her.

If you have a young horse ready for a correct, calm and confident start reach out to us to get on the books!

Windhover day 2-

First of all THANK you to Sara, Cassie, their wonderful husbands and parents, Gwen, Jim, Mark L. And all the wonderful gate people. You guys put on what’s become my favorite show to spend the weekend. In mt 27 years in horses this is hands down my favorite venue. My kid feels at home, my horses do their best their, the footing is well maintained and safe, the courses are amazing, the judging is fair , and the kids ALL have giant smiles on their face. Mila ran around as part of the windhover kids family all weekend and it just made my heart so happy! Thank you guys for the best year of showing at your place !

Second, the 2 clients horses (Pickles 1 and Pickles 2😂😅) made me feel once again I found my place in this world through horses. Pickles 1 is developing so incredibly well and for a horse that had no clue how to jump a year ago, her progress is impressive and makes me so proud of allllll the hard work, training rides , lessons, ground sessions we have had to be here. Watching her with her mama this weekend was such a joy for me. Sam and I have been LITERALLY through hell and back. She deserves this great mare so much!! They were the division champion for the series !!!

Pickles 2 wins most improved. This horse has spent MONTHS making dangerous bids at poles and jumps, and FINALLY I found the piece of the puzzle! And our incredible vet dr bell diagnosed my suspicions and treated them. The difference in him is INSANE. 6 weeks ago he was basically unrideable (but not VISIBLE “lame”). He reinforces my beliefs that we MUST stop looking at horses soundness the way we have been for years. There such a massive emotional piece as prey animals how they show pain. Their bodies can tell an entire story IF you start looking deeper. To watch him canter a course today which was NOT planned or expected with flying changes was incredible. His kid FINALLY felt confident in him to let go and really ride and have fun again. Tinzley I am SO PROUD of who you are and every single decision you have made with pickles since he’s been in training here. That smile on your face today brought tears to my eyes !!

Lastly Morgan Burba for taking care of my farm last minute you are my hero!! And Jennie for taking care of Marley all weekend . All the horse show moms; husbands, dads, grandparents, for everything you do packing and unpacking, filling buckets , cleaning stalls, watching ruby, helping my kid. You guys are amazing . Truly a village . That’s what we’ve build here! What a beautiful way to close out the season at windhover. We can’t wait till next year!! Thankful for all of you ❤️

Horse show dump candids day one - both pickles were so great today despite some fall morning freshies. Both horses impressed me with their improvements from the last show.

Nina and Mila won the costume contest - it was too fun to see all the kids dressed up in their creative costumes. We are having a blast . Thank you everyone at windhover for always putting on our favorite show
