Happy Friday everyone! We have some pictures from around the store today.
Freshwater Fish: We had a batch of fish come in on Thursday that included Chili Rasboras (likely the last batch for a while), Betta Mahachaiensis, Banded Gourami, Dwarf Gourami, Neon Tetras, Black Neon Tetras, Cardinal Tetras, Ember Tetras, Rubberlip Plecos, Red Swordtails, Kohaku Swordtails, Otocinclus, and Red Sailfin Corys.
Saltwater fish: Shout out to ProAquatix, a saltwater fish breeder in Florida. They sent over a batch of their beautiful clownfish and a few other guys that are going through acclimation right now. They should be out in the sales tanks soon!
Breeding projects: Our Discus have started laying eggs and then taking turns gobbling them up. Hopefully they will figure things out shortly. The female Betta Macrostoma looks like she is gravid, so we are very excited about the possibility of selling juvenile Macrostoma in the store. Finally, the Bristlenose Plecos decided to spawned another batch of fry in their Pleco cave. These guys will be on sale as soon as they are ready to go to their new homes.
Store expansion: Progress is moving along slowly but surely. Several of the 55g tanks are on their racks with water in them. We currently have 8 of 18 freshwater racks built and 21 of 136 freshwater tanks drilled for bulkheads. We also have the first part of an auto water change system in place. If you squint your eyes you might be convinced that it's starting to look like an aquarium store. With enough hustling, the plan is still to get the expansion open in September.
