🚨 IMPORTANT SHELTER UPDATE 🚨
We want to make our community aware that we are currently managing an outbreak of a virus within our cat population. Out of an abundance of caution and to protect the animals in our care, our main shelter building is currently under a 14-day quarantine.
Our team is working diligently to manage the situation, follow appropriate protocols, and keep our animals as safe and healthy as possible.
What this means for our community:
🐾 Our ability to accept animals, particularly cats, will be very limited during the quarantine period.
If you are considering an owner surrender and are safely able to wait until the quarantine period has ended, we are asking that you please do so.
If you have an owned or stray cat that absolutely cannot wait, please CALL US BEFORE bringing the cat to the shelter. Our staff will talk with you about the situation and determine the safest possible plan for that animal while protecting the cats already in our care.
Our Adoption Trailer remains OPEN at this time, but additional precautions are in place. The cat playpens are closed, and cats may not be removed from their kennels except by staff.
We understand that limiting our intake, even temporarily, may create a hardship for members of our community who rely on us. We do not make that decision lightly. But as always, the health and safety of the animals entrusted to our care must be our highest priority.
We are doing everything in our power to handle this situation responsibly and safely, and we greatly appreciate your patience, understanding, and cooperation over the next two weeks.
📞 Please call 410-820-1600 before bringing a cat to the shelter during this quarantine period.
We will continue to keep our community updated as the situation progresses.
