Trip has been caught red-pawed sleeping on the clock at Ridgetowne Animal Clinic. 🐈‍⬛

Apparently, his job duties include:
🐾 Supervising from a horizontal position
🐾 Taking mandatory beauty naps
🐾 Looking adorable enough to avoid disciplinary action
🐾 Occasionally waking up to inspect the snack department
🐾 Providing emotional support… mostly to himself

We’d write him up, but honestly, have you seen that face? 😂

We had the sweetest little visitor at Ridgetowne Animal Clinic! Archie came in for his very first puppy visit, and it’s safe to say he stole our hearts.

He was SO cute, so sweet, and such a good boy for his appointment. We loved getting to meet you, Archie, and we can’t wait to watch you grow!

Today we’re celebrating 6 years of Tayler at Ridgetowne Animal Clinic!

Tayler is one of those people who works incredibly hard, is always willing to jump in wherever she’s needed, and has become such an important part of our clinic over the years. We truly don’t know what we’d do without her!

Tayler, thank you for SIX years of hard work, dedication, laughs, and for everything you do to help keep Ridgetowne going. We love you and are so thankful you’re part of our team!

One mosquito bite is all it takes!

Did you know heartworms are transmitted to dogs through the bite of an infected mosquito? Once inside your dog, heartworm larvae slowly develop and travel through the body, eventually reaching the heart and blood vessels of the lungs.

The heartworm life cycle looks something like this:

Infected mosquito bites your dog
⬇️
Heartworm larvae enter the body
⬇️
Larvae grow and mature over several months
⬇️
Adult heartworms live in the heart and pulmonary arteries
⬇️
Adult worms produce microscopic offspring that circulate in the bloodstream
⬇️
Another mosquito picks them up — and the cycle continues!

The good news? Heartworm disease is preventable!

Consistent, year-round heartworm prevention kills immature larvae before they have the chance to develop into dangerous adult worms. We also recommend routine heartworm testing to make sure your pet stays protected.

Heartworm treatment can be lengthy, costly, and hard on your dog. Prevention is much easier. ❤️

There's a new little face we're excited to introduce!

Everyone, meet Arthur! This handsome black Lab puppy came to see us for his very first visit at Ridgetowne Animal Clinic, and we're pretty sure he stole a few hearts while he was here. From those sweet puppy eyes to those oversized paws, he's as adorable as they come!

We can't wait to watch Arthur grow and be part of his journey for years to come. Welcome to the Ridgetowne family, sweet boy! 🐶❤️
