A Morning Rescue Story at Broad Street Veterinary Hospital
This morning, a Good Samaritan brought in a stray cat for an exam and vaccines โ but things quickly took an unexpected turn.
The frightened kitty slipped away in the parking lot and ran into traffic, eventually wedging himself deep inside the engine of a nearby truck. Without hesitation, our team sprang into action.
LVT Emily, along with assistants Mariah and Madison, worked alongside a kind Richmond Police officer, the truck owner, and staff from Advance Auto Parts to safely rescue the cat.
Laying on cold, wet pavement and coordinating traffic, everyone came together with one goal: keeping this scared kitty safe.
After a tense few moments, the cat bolted free and was safely wrangled into a carrier by Emily (armed with cat-handling gloves and a towel).
Teamwork truly saved the day. ๐
We also want to remind everyone that even normally gentle animals can panic when scared. If you encounter a stray or feral animal, please call animal control or a veterinary professional for help โ attempting to handle them yourself can lead to serious injury.
