**Updated Training Opportunities!!!
IN PERSON classes will be through the Goochland Parks N Rec Organization - We are offering 4 different classes, during the month of October (4 week session). You do not need to be a Goochland County Resident to attend these classes. Class details/registration info with links are below:
CGC/Therapy Dog Prep
This class will guide teams through the skills necessary for completion of both the AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen) test and the Alliance of Therapy Dog test items. Teams should have a good training background and working relationship with their dogs prior to this class. Testing for the CGC may be completed at the end of the 4-week session. Class will be held at the Central Cultural and Education Complex.

Life Skills for Adolescent Dogs:
The Adolescent Dog Skills class will pick up where your puppy training left off. We will start to apply the learned puppy skills, to every day life situations-additional distractions, additional challenges will be added to continue to help your dog learn. Skills will include leash walking, house manners, impulse control, plus troubleshooting adolescent behaviors. This class is ideal for puppies 6 months or older. Class will be held at Central Cultural and Educational Complex.

Introduction to Tricks:
In this class teams will be introduced to trick training methods and fun ways to interact with their dogs. The focus will be on novice and intermediate tricks, applicable through both the AKC tricks program and Do More With Your Dog trick program. Teams can be tested and earn trick titles over the course of the session, as they are able and ready to do so. Class will be held at Central Cultural and Educational Complex.

Puppy Basics:
Puppy Basics will help you teach your puppy good manners from the ground up! Teams will work on crate games/learning to love the crate, focus and attention, name recognition, sit/stay, down/stay, beginning of leash walking, and more! Having a new puppy comes with lots of questions about biting/nipping, potty training, house rules, and more-teams will be able to ask and get direction on all needs of the puppies! Class will be held at the Central Cultural and Educational Complex.

Monday evening/Intro to Agility OUTSIDE/IN PERSON AT MY FARM 30 mins west of Short Pump area:
5:30 pm start time - class will be approx 1 hour in length
4 week session: Dates: 9/13, 9/20, 9/27, 10/4 (10/11 reserved for a rain/weather make up day if needed)
Cost is $90/team
**Must have 3+ people to hold this class
A subsequent/continuation session would be offered as follows:
5:30 pm start time (or 5 pm if needed for daylight) - class will be approx 1 hour in length
4 week session: Dates: 10/18, 10/25, 11/1, 11/8 (11/15 reserved for rain/weather make up)
Cost is $90/team

Puppy manners, ideal for dogs up to 6 months of age (can be flexible)
9 am - Online via ZOOM

Ideal for dogs 10 weeks of age - up to 6 months of age (can be flexible)
