Today I said my final goodbye to little Pippa.

I’ve said goodbye to so many four-legged friends this year because of age and illness, but this one hits a little harder.

Pippa has been with me for three years. Her mom is a travel nurse, so even after they left for a while, we picked right back up when they returned.

She’s 15 and some change, and her health has been declining quickly. With her mom preparing to leave for her next adventure, I know this was probably my last goodbye to my sweet girl.

I’m so grateful I got to know such a wonderful woman and her beautiful, tiny poodle. Pippa was one of my OGs, with me before Ruffin’ It really got off the ground, and she has been such a blessing in my life.

I love you, Pippa. 🤍

The elephant in the room: I have been absolutely terrible at posting on here. 😂

During the day I’m outside, it’s hot, I can barely see my screen, and my iPhone 15 is basically a hand warmer with a camera.

By the time I get home, it’s dinner, dogs, toddler, pr***en, teenager, chaos.

So Instagram has been… neglected. 😂

Anyway, proof of life. I’m still here. Still walking dogs. Still taking way too many pictures of them.

☀️ Heat Wave Policy ☀️

With dangerous heat expected over the next couple of days, my visits will be adjusted accordingly.

A scheduled 30-minute visit does not always mean 30 minutes of walking. It means 30 minutes dedicated to your dog’s care.

On extreme heat days, that may include:

🐾 A short potty break
💧 Fresh water and cool-down time
🧠 Enrichment activities and mental stimulation
🎾 Indoor games, training, or scent work
❤️ Plenty of attention and monitoring to make sure they’re handling the heat well

Every decision I make is based on the conditions and the individual dog in front of me - not the clock.

My goal has never been to squeeze every possible minute outside. My goal is to make sure every dog gets home safely.
That’s the standard I’ll continue to follow, no matter how hot it gets.
