Today is a very big day for our sweet Buttercup.
When Buttercup first came into rescue, she was emaciated, suffering from untreated diabetes, and navigating a severe heart murmur. Despite our best efforts, she struggled to gain weight because her diabetes was completely unmanaged. This little Beagle has endured more than any dog ever should.
Over the past several weeks, we’ve worked tirelessly alongside multiple incredible veterinary teams to tackle her challenges one by one. Every small victory has brought us closer to this moment.
Today, Buttercup is undergoing surgery to repair a massive inguinal hernia that is impacting her intestines.
Surgery is always risky, but for Buttercup, the stakes are even higher. Between her diabetes, heart condition, and fragile body, this procedure is especially challenging. But we know she’s a fighter, and she deserves every chance at the healthy, happy life she has never had.
