Alright friends, here’s your homework for the week: spend intentional time with your dog three times a day. Not “let them wander around the backyard while you scroll Zillow for houses you can’t afford” time. Actual, real-deal interaction.
I’m seeing way too many dogs getting left to their own devices—and spoiler alert, your dog’s idea of “devices” is not a Nintendo Switch. It’s usually rearranging your shoe rack or re-landscaping your flower beds.
Let’s show the world that we’re not that kind of dog community. 💪
Here are some ideas to get you started:
-Cooporative care work to help with brushing, detangling tumbleweeds, nail trims, etc.
-Walk, jog, or shuffle—whatever your knees can manage.
-A game of tug until someone pulls a muscle (probably you).
-Dust off those basic skills—sit, down, don’t tackle Grandma.
-Teach a new trick, like “give mama a back rub.”
-Hide and seek, because nothing makes you feel more loved than being found by a panting detective with fur.
Movement puzzles while you listen to your latest podcast obsession (see this can be fun for both you and your dog)
Honestly, the list is endless. Pick a couple and go for it.

So get moving, get training, and report back with your wins this week. I want to hear what you and your dog get up to—bonus points if it involves both exercise and laughter.
