There Are Several Things You Can Do For Your Pup, to help them through all of the commotion that surrounds The Fourth!

your to sound exposure is a very gradual process and implements a protocol that we can control/manage (i.e. utilizing pre recorded audio of the sound at a low level so as not to trigger a fear/stress response, for short durations of time and pairing an activity that your pup enjoys) and should be practiced every day for an amount of time determined by the progress/comfortability of your individual dog.

While out & about, we love to practice our Jolly Settles, when Ginger is playing fetch and honing her Recall skills.

We run like crazy and get all excited, I cue her to go through my legs and we do a light touch massage to bring things down a notch. She's getting pretty good at it 👏

Next step is cuing a Down then we'll work up to Waits while we throw the ball and send her to go get it!

Managing your environment when guests come over is key, during the holidays, for successful family & dog mingling. Be sure to give pups plenty of breaks Away from people (especially kids) or perhaps they would do best in another room, entirely, with a stuffed Kong, a cozy bed and some white noise playing in the background 👍✌️

You can even try walking them out to greet people (one at a time), on their leash and harness, to help prevent any over exuberant barking/jumping/food theft!

You know your dog best! Look out for signs of stress and set them up for an enjoyable time.
