Blaze came up a little short this weekend running a double Master. But I really like this young dog and see the potential.

Ran the third series in both Masters and needed a clean triple in both to pass. Tests were not easy for a lower level Master dog. He ended up having to handle in Master 1. Still ran the blind and he crushed it. He did get a clean triple in Master 2 but had a big hunt on the long memory bird which put his average for marking in all 3 series to low to pass.

Let’s talk about “Popping”. What is it? Popping as it relates to marking is when a dog gives up hunting on a mark and sits to look to you for help. In this video, we are running blind drills so popping in this case is when the dog is kicked off for on a blind and stops their momentum to turn and look back at the handler.

Although I wanted to work on casting drills and change of direction I noticed this dog was popping a lot so I changed my plan to fix the popping issue and work on momentum.
