Dear future family,

I don’t know your name yet.
I don’t know what your couch looks like, or what kind of snacks you eat, or how you laugh when you’re really happy.
But I think about you every single day.

I don’t need anything fancy.
I don’t care what kind of car you drive or how big your house is.
I don’t even mind if you’ve never had a dog before, I’ll teach you what I need.

Here’s what I do dream of:
I dream of a quiet spot on the floor near your feet while you drink your morning coffee.
I dream of short walks and long naps.
I dream of someone saying, “That’s Chica. She’s ours.”

I’ve been dreaming like this for a long time.
I’ve watched so many dogs come and go.
And while I’m happy for them, I always wonder, when is it my turn?

I’m not perfect.
I’ve been through things I can’t explain.
But I promise you this,
I have so much love left to give.
I will meet you where you are with patience, loyalty, and a heart that has waited just for you.

So if you’re out there, and if you’re the kind of person who believes in second chances and soft landings,
I think we’d be a perfect match.

Until then, I’ll be here.
Waiting, and dreaming.

365 DAYS AGO‼️A very pregnant Chica Roo arrived at our rescue. Just 8 days later, she became a mama. She’s watched all her pups grow up and get adopted.
She’s gone through more changes than most dogs ever should. With losing her home, moving to boarding, then a training program. But through it all, Chica has taken it in stride.
At her boarding facility, an amazing volunteer made sure she still got to feel like a dog by taking her on car rides, park walks, store outings, and of course, ✨PUP CUPS✨
Then in February she got a huge opportunity! A spot in a wonderful board-and-train, where she’s been learning, thriving, and getting ready for her future.
Chica has remained the sweetest soul.
She’s goofy, cuddly, and loves her outings, pup cups, and butt scratches. She knows her basic commands and is so full of love.
She can’t live with cats or chickens, and would need proper intros with other dogs but with the right home and patience she’ll be someone’s perfect match.
She still waits so patiently for her forever home.
Could her second year be the one where her happy ending finally begins?
