How does the KAR Community Spay & Neuter Program work?
We want to clarify…
While we are fortunate to have a full-time veterinarian on staff, her primary responsibility is caring for the animals housed at Kalamazoo Animal Rescue. The health and medical needs of the animals in our care must always come first.
When our schedule allows, we are happy to offer spay and neuter services to members of the community. However, these appointments are only available when we have openings.
If you would like to be added to our spay/neuter appointment list, please send an email to [email protected]. We will add your request to our list and contact you when we have availability.
Please understand that calling, messaging, or repeatedly following up to ask why you have not been contacted yet does not move you higher on the list and takes staff time away from caring for the animals currently in our shelter.
We understand that having an unaltered pet can be frustrating, but we ask for your patience and respect as we work through requests as quickly as our schedule allows.
Most importantly, please remember that we will only contact you WHEN we have availability. If you have not heard from us yet, it simply means we do not currently have an opening in our schedule.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
