🌷🌿 Spring Has Sprung! 🌿🌷
Flowers are blooming, sunshine is sticking around longer… spring is here
But some common plants can be dangerous for our furry friends 🐶🐱⚠️
🌺 HIGHLY TOXIC (Dogs & Cats):
• Sago Palm (can cause liver failure)
• Oleander (heart toxicity)
• Foxglove (dangerous heart effects)
• Lily of the Valley (heart rhythm changes)
• Castor Bean Plant (severe toxicity, can be fatal)
🌼 TOXIC TO BOTH DOGS & CATS (GI upset, drooling, irritation, more):
• Daffodils (especially bulbs)
• Tulips
• Hyacinths
• Azaleas & Rhododendrons
• Autumn Crocus
🐱 MORE DANGEROUS FOR CATS:
• Lilies (EXTREMELY toxic—even pollen or water can cause kidney failure)
• Easter Lily, Tiger Lily, Day Lily (all lily types)
🐶 COMMONLY AFFECTING DOGS (more likely due to chewing habits):
• Pothos & Philodendron (mouth irritation, drooling)
• Aloe Vera (vomiting/diarrhea)
• English Ivy (GI upset, drooling)
• Monstera (oral irritation, swelling)
💚 Reminder: Even “mild” plant exposures can cause vomiting, drooling, lethargy, or worse depending on amount and pet size.
