What happens while your pet is under anesthesia?
For many pet owners, surgery isn't the part they're most worried about...
It's the anesthesia.
At Dogwood Veterinary Clinic, we understand that completely. That's why every patient is treated as if they were our own family member.
While your pet is under anesthesia, they are never left alone. A dedicated surgical technician stays with your pet from the moment anesthesia begins until they are awake and recovering comfortably.
Throughout the procedure, we carefully monitor:
❤️ ECG (heart rhythm)
❤️ Blood pressure
❤️ Oxygen levels (pulse oximetry)
❤️ Temperature
❤️ IV catheter and fluids (based on your pet's procedure and individual needs)
❤️ Recovery from anesthesia
Our surgery and procedure technicians have anywhere from 10 and 30 years of veterinary experience, and most of our surgical team has worked together for nearly 10 years. That experience allows us to recognize subtle changes quickly and provide attentive, individualized care throughout every procedure.
Whether your pet is here for a routine spay or neuter, a dental cleaning, or an advanced surgery, our goal is always the same:
To provide exceptional medicine with compassion, careful monitoring, and the highest standard of care.
We are proud to offer surgery that is both affordable and personalized—because we don't believe you should have to choose between excellent care and reasonable pricing.
Thank you for trusting Dogwood Veterinary Clinic with your pets. It is a responsibility we never take lightly.
