At just 11 weeks old, Milo, an absolutely adorable Miniature Dachshund puppy, came waddling into UrgentVet with a problem that definitely wasn't on his puppy adventure checklist... WORMS!

Our team was happy to help this handsome little sausage dog get on the path toward feeling better and living his best, worm-free puppy life!

Keep an eye out for:

Visible worms in the stool or vomit
Diarrhea or unusually soft stools
A swollen or potbellied appearance
Vomiting
Weight loss or poor growth
Decreased appetite
Lethargy or weakness

We're hoping this precious little Dachshund is back home enjoying puppy cuddles, exploring the world on those tiny legs, and leaving the worms behind!

Meet Ghost, an adorable Pit Bull who floated into UrgentVet with a little mystery of his own: a swollen toe!

Unfortunately, this wasn't a case of something going bump in the night. Ghost was experiencing some skin issues that had led to inflammation and swelling around his toe.

Our team examined Ghost and determined that antibiotics were appropriate to help treat his skin infection and get that pesky swelling under control. With a little medication, some TLC, and plenty of love, we're hoping Ghost will be back to haunting the neighborhood in no time!

Dogs can develop skin infections around their paws and between their toes, a condition sometimes referred to as pododermatitis.

Keep an eye out for:

Swelling around one or more toes
Redness or irritation between the toes
Excessive licking or chewing at the paws
Limping or reluctance to walk
Discharge, unusual odors, or painful bumps
Sensitivity when the paw is touched
