The Oneida County Humane Society began advocating for humane treatment of animals and children in 1913 when it was officially recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a non-profit organization. MThe Rhinelander Animal Shelter currently provides services to all of Oneida County animals. Over the years, members of the Oneida County Hum

ane Society actively provided funds for area animal shelters and humane societies. In 2011 a small group of area animal lovers came together with the hope of expanding the Society’s activities to include education to the public and greater assistance to the Rhinelander Animal Shelter. On July 1, 2012, the Oneida County Humane Society assumed operational responsibility for the Animal Shelter, renaming it the Oneida County Humane Society Adoption Center.

Chevy is in a foster home doing great and ready for his new family! Chevy has been fully sponsored- No fee for approved adopter! Thank you to his foster home Jessica for all she has done to help with Chevy as he waits for his new place.

He is not a yappy chihuahua! Like any dog he will let me know someone is here and then he stops barking, even when strangers are in his space. This alone makes him a 10/10 good boy. Chevy just wants to loaf in the sun, go for walks, and cuddle with you at night.

The only thing he’s not a fan of is aggressive love. Meaning if you’re too enthusiastic with pets he politely says no thank you.

🐰 Velvet, Buddy and Cleo are three Silver Fox rabbits looking for their new homes! These three love their hop time, toys and are very curious. They have been spayed/neutered and are ready for their new homes. Their adoption fees have been partially sponsored- their fee is only $15 each.

🐶Boogs, a neutered, almost 12 year old senior shih tzu is in need of a home to retire in. Boogs has been at OCHS for a few weeks with no interest. Boogs came to us due to his owners health and family was not able to take him.
His adoption fee has been mostly sponsored and is now only $25.

Huge thank you to Doug and Dana Fisher for their amazing “Christmas in June” donation! These 2 donate to us every year around Christmas time but this year chose to come early! We always get lots of goodies around the holiday season but not always so much the rest of the year. Donations like this are so appreciated! Not pictured is approximately 300+ lbs of cat litter!! Update: Adopted!!🎉

💕Beautiful Snow White is now available and looking for her new home. She arrived with her litter of kittens, who have all been adopted and now she waits for a family of her own. Stop by today between 12-4 to meet her! She is very sweet. Good with other pets.
Adoption fee is only $35. She is spayed, has her shots and is microchipped.
