Ok cat owners… what are YOUR best tips for getting a cat in a carrier!?

1️⃣ **Keep the carrier out** – Leave the carrier open at home so it feels like normal furniture, not a scary box. Add a soft blanket or toys inside.

2️⃣ **Make it cozy** – Line it with a favorite blanket or a piece of your clothing that smells like you.

3️⃣ **Use positive associations** – Toss in treats or sprinkle a little catnip to encourage exploration.

4️⃣ **Practice short trips** – Occasionally take a quick car ride and return home, so the carrier isn’t always linked to the vet.

5️⃣ **Stay calm** – Cats pick up on stress. Speak softly, move slowly, and don’t chase.

6️⃣ **Try the “backwards” trick** – Gently lower your cat into the carrier tail-first; many cats find this less stressful.

💡 Pro tip: Start early! The more your cat sees the carrier as a safe space, the easier future trips will be.

🐾 Protect Your Pup: Know the Signs of Heartworm Disease🐾

Heartworm disease is a serious and potentially fatal condition caused by parasitic worms living in the heart, lungs, and blood vessels of dogs. The earlier it’s detected, the better the chance for treatment.

👉 Common signs to watch for:

Persistent coughing
Fatigue after light exercise
Decreased appetite
Weight loss
Swollen belly

The scary part? Many dogs don’t show symptoms until the disease has progressed. That’s why year-round prevention and annual testing are so important.❤️🐶

✅ Talk to us about prevention and testing. Protect your dog from heartworm…. it’s much easier (and safer) to prevent than to treat!
