If you’ve stopped by our clinic here in Rhinelander, you already know we have the best clients and patients around. But behind the scenes, keeping everything running smoothly, is our absolutely incredible team of veterinary technicians.

To be completely honest, the clinic would descend into absolute chaos without them. While the vets are doing exams or in surgery, our techs are managing practically everything else. If you've ever wondered what they actually do, the short answer is everything. They are our:

• Patient Comforters: Sitting on the floor to hand-feed a nervous pup or cuddling a cat waking up from anesthesia.

• Medical Masters: Drawing blood, running lab work, placing IV catheters, and taking X-rays.

🦠💉 Why does my indoor pet need a rabies vaccine?

Even if your cat or dog never goes outside, rabies vaccination is still essential:

✅ It’s the law. Most states require rabies vaccines for all pets—indoors and outdoors.
✅ Accidents happen. A bat or wild animal can get inside, or your pet may slip out unexpectedly.
✅ It protects people too. Rabies is *always fatal* once symptoms appear, in both pets and humans. Vaccinating keeps everyone safe.

⚠️ What if a bat gets in your house?

* If your pet is **not up to date** on rabies, they may have to go through strict quarantine—or worse, be at risk of euthanasia.
* If your pet **is vaccinated**, they just need a booster shot and a short observation period.
* In either case, call your veterinarian immediately, and never handle the bat yourself.

🐾 Vaccination is simple, safe, and lifesaving. Protect your furry family member *and* your human family—make sure your pet’s rabies vaccine is up to date!
