As many of my clients know, I’m a firm believer in continually investing in myself, expanding my knowledge, and growing my business. Over the past decade of business ownership, I’ve evolved, adapted, and continued to find new ways to better serve my clients and their animals.
And now… another exciting chapter is on the horizon! 🎉

Very soon, I’ll be adding a new service to my professional offerings, and I am BEYOND excited to bring it to Rhinelander, Wisconsin!

Here’s a little hint: to the best of my knowledge, I don’t believe another animal professional in the immediate Rhinelander area currently offers this particular service. 👀

I’ve been working toward this for a while, and I can’t wait to officially share what I’ve been up to!

Stay tuned… something exciting is coming! 🐾✨

One thing that always makes me chuckle is when people insist on shoving their hand directly into a dog’s face and saying, “Let him smell me first.”

You mean the animal that can smell a female dog in heat from miles away?

The same animal that can locate a buried body, track a person across miles of terrain, detect drugs, explosives, medical conditions, and identify who was in a room hours before they arrived?

Trust me… your dog knows you’re there.

Dogs don’t need your hand shoved into their personal space to gather information. In fact, many dogs find that approach uncomfortable or even threatening—especially nervous, fearful, or reactive dogs.

A better approach? Ignore the dog, give them space, and let them choose to investigate you on their own terms. You’ll often get a much more positive interaction.

So next time you meet a dog, remember:

🐕 “Let him smell me.”

Buddy, he smelled you from the parking lot. 😂

He already knows what you had for lunch, where you’ve been, and probably that you pet another dog three hours ago.

Atlas has been with me for one week and is enrolled in a six-week board and train program to address resource guarding behaviors.

One of the most important things to understand about behavior modification is that obedience alone does not eliminate behaviors such as resource guarding. However, obedience training provides the dog with valuable skills, structure, and clarity. It also serves as a foundation for developing a strong relationship and clear communication between dog and handler.

For the first several weeks, our focus will not be directly on the resource guarding itself. Instead, we are building trust, establishing communication, creating engagement through play, and teaching Atlas to respect boundaries and expectations. These foundational elements are critical before moving into the behavior modification phase.

Successful behavior change is built on a solid relationship, clear communication, and mutual understanding. We are taking the time to establish that foundation first so Atlas can be set up for long-term success.

Looking for a Forever Home 🐾

Meet Bailey, a sweet 8-year-old German Shepherd who is searching for her forever family. Through no fault of her own, Bailey is currently looking for a new place to call home.

Bailey is a spayed female with a calm, lower-energy personality, making her an excellent companion for someone looking for a laid-back and affectionate dog. She is up to date on all of her veterinary care and gets along well with both other dogs and cats.

If you’ve been considering adding a mature, well-mannered companion to your family, Bailey may be the perfect fit. She has so love to give and deserves a home where she can spend her golden years surrounded by people who will cherish her.

Please reach out to Jody for more information or to learn how you can meet Bailey. Let’s help this wonderful girl find the loving home she deserves. ❤️🐾 (715)340-9686
