A breathtaking new astro-image is making waves — and for good reason. Astrophotographer Andrew McCarthy has pulled off an incredible alignment, capturing a skydiver perfectly silhouetted against the blazing solar surface.

The jump was performed by YouTuber and musician Gabriel C. Brown from around 3,500 feet, while McCarthy carefully positioned his solar telescope to frame the fall directly in front of the sun. After several trial runs, everything lined up for a single, unbelievable moment.

The final shot, titled “The Fall of Icarus,” was taken on November 8 and reveals the skydiver’s outline carved sharply into the glowing hydrogen-alpha view of the sun — a perspective rarely, if ever, seen before. Many are calling it a one-of-a-kind achievement in both astrophotography and timing.

In 2024, Utah State University’s aviation program started the air traffic control minor to help teach students the basics of the industry.

The minor does not fully certify students to become air traffic controllers, but sets them up to train at the FAA facility in Oklahoma City next.

Hello,

We are writing to provide an update to you on the Indian Creek Veterinary Hospital.

We believe it is time to pass the reins to the next generation and will be retiring at the end of August. We would like to thank all of our clients for 36 wonderful years of practice. It has been our honor and pleasure to help you keep your pets happy and healthy.

We have found a new owner for the practice. He is very enthusiastic and he plans to expand more services to the existing practice. We think you will be happy with the upgrades and hope you will give the new team a chance to serve your furry family.

Your records will be available now and for the next year if you need them. Any clients with ongoing cases should request a copy of their records in case you need assistance from another veterinarian.

Please note that the practice will close for a yet to be determined period during September for maintenance and remodeling purposes. Thanks again for so many great memories.

Meet Omi! 🐾

Omi is a 2-year-old spayed female who’s full of love and looking for her forever home! 💕 She was left outside our clinic in a carrier with no note, but we’re so glad she found her way to us.

Since arriving, we’ve discovered that Omi is an absolute sweetheart — she’s incredibly cuddly and has the happiest little personality. She gets along well with other cats and doesn’t seem to mind dogs either.
