⚠️ Trigger Warning: Animal Abuse ⚠️
Do you remember Isaac? The adorable little guy with the underbite we featured last Friday?
This week, Isaac went in for his neuter appointment. While he was under sedation, the veterinary team was able to take a much closer look at what was causing his unusual bite.
What they found was heartbreaking.
The veterinarian's best assessment is that Isaac suffered significant trauma to his face at some point in his past, likely from being kicked hard enough to damage the growth plate in his upper jaw and force one of his canine teeth into the roof of his mouth. When they removed the tooth, they discovered a severe infection that extended all the way into his nasal cavity.
The good news? Isaac is finally getting the care he has needed for a long time.
The damaged tooth was removed, the infection was drained, and he is now on medication to help him heal. Most importantly, he's on the road to a future with far less pain than he's likely been living with.
What makes Isaac remarkable isn't what happened to him—it's who he is despite it.
Despite being failed by people, Isaac remains one of the friendliest, happiest dogs you'll ever meet. He loves people. He loves other dogs. He greets the world with a wagging tail and a hopeful heart.
Stories like Isaac's make us angry. They break our hearts. But they also remind us why we do this.
Because now Isaac's story gets a different ending—one filled with safety, kindness, soft beds, adventures, and people who will never let him be hurt again.
Now we need your help.
Isaac is looking for a foster home or, even better, a forever family of his own. If you've been thinking about fostering or adopting, maybe Isaac is the dog you've been waiting for.
Let's make sure the next chapter of Isaac's story is the one he deserves. ❤️
