Butler Dog Training Association has been serving the Butler, Pennsylvania community for over 40 year We are a non profit 501c dog training facility.

We offer classes for Puppy Obedience, Basic Manners & Obedience Levels 1&2 and some Agility classes. Our classes are taught with qualified and experienced instructors and assistants using positive training.

BDTA is offering a NEW CLASS on Tuesdays May 26 - June 30 from 1pm-2pm. Your instructors are Tammy Boice and Ann Ferguson - who BOTH have competed with multiple dogs through the AKC Rally program.

What: Rally Obedience Level I
Where: BDTA Building, 1017 Evans City Rd, Renfrew PA 16053
When: Tuesdays (starting May 26 thru June 30) at 1:00pm-2:00pm
Price: $45 for members; $90 for non-members

Either way that you apply for the class (online or mail-in), you will be notified via email if you are in the class. Please know we are only accepting 10 students at this time.

Class Description: Rally Obedience Level I is a fun, fast-paced introduction to the exciting sport of AKC Rally. This six-week course is designed for handlers and dogs who are new to AKC Rally Obedience and want to build a solid foundation in reading, understanding, and performing AKC Rally signs. This class is ideal for: first-time Rally participants and/or dogs and handlers who have completed a basic obedience course. Dogs should have a basic understanding of sit, down, stay, and come prior to enrolling.

Another set of rally and obedience trials in the books! Thank you so very much to the competitors who came and supported our trials even with the chaos of the NFL draft going on. Big thank you to all of our judges, stewards and people behind the scenes that made it happen! We were even able to celebrate some of our own that hit big milestones in their obedience careers. Just another reason to have cake! 😂 Congratulations to all who earned a qualifying score and our new title holders!! Look for our next set of Rally/ obedience trials scheduled for October 2-3-4, 2026. Hope to see you then!

With the severe cold and incoming snow this weekend, I've decided to CANCEL the BDTA run-thrus that was scheduled for Sun 1/25/26.

Please keep in mind that we will be having future Rally run-thrus on the following dates - watch our page for more details:
Sunday, Feb 15 at 9am-12pm
Sunday, Mar 29 at 9am-12pm

Join us for classes starting in January: Basic Manners Level I classes have start dates: Monday evening classes starting on January 19th, Tuesday morning classes starting on January 13th, Wednesday evening classes starting on January 14th, and Saturday morning classes starting on January 17th. The classes affected will be all the classes listed for both Rally Trials

We regret any inconvenience this may cause. AKC requires us to notify all affected entrants of this change.
If you entered a dog under the original judge and wish to withdraw your entry, you may do so with a full refund.
To request a withdrawal, you must notify the Trial Secretary in writing (email is acceptable) before the start of the regular judging at the show.
The judging program, premium and catalog will be updated to reflect this change.
