🏡👻 Be Prepared! Your home doesn’t have to be haunted to feel scary to a new rescue dog!

Slippery floors, a ringing doorbell, the vacuum—even everyday shadows—may be unfamiliar and overwhelming.

Give your new companion time, a quiet place to retreat, and the freedom to explore at their own pace. Keep introductions gentle and celebrate small victories. 💛

Patience helps turn a strange new place into a place that feels like home.

💛 Sometimes love begins with simply giving someone time.

Meet Rex #19, a 9-year-old Lab who arrived at DVGRR from a breeder. Very timid and reserved around people, Rex is still learning that a gentle voice, a kind hand, and human company can be good things.

He’s already taking little steps forward. 🐾 Rex has learned to walk on leash and enjoys going for walks. He also appreciates a tasty treat, which he takes ever so gently.

Rex needs someone who will let him move at his own pace—someone who understands that trust can’t be rushed and that small moments of courage deserve celebrating. If there’s another dog in the home, he’ll need a careful match.

Could you be the patient person who helps Rex feel safe, build confidence, and discover the comfort of belonging? ❤️

Thanks to a generous supporter, a portion of Rex’s adoption fee has been underwritten.

Visit https://dvgrr.org/dogs/29-098-rex-19-labrador-retriever/ to learn more about Rex #19, or email [email protected] with questions.
