Wild Bill šŸ“šŸ¤©
Meet Wild Bill, a 3-year-old, basically untouched bucking horse who has never been bucked. Deep down, this boy wants to be sweetā€”he just hasn't learned how to trust people yet.
The other day, it took his owner and me about an hour and a half to get a halter on him. Unfortunately, he managed to get it off last night, so today we started back at square one. My goal is always to build trust first, and I never want to use a rope if I don't absolutely have to.
Today it took about 2Ā½ hours of patience, consistency, and understanding to get that halter back on, but every minute was worth it. With each session, Wild Bill is learning that people aren't something to fear, and his trust in me continues to grow.
Training horses like this isn't about rushing the processā€”it's about taking the time they need and celebrating every small win along the way. The progress we're making is incredible, and I'm so excited to see where this journey takes us.
At the end of the video, you'll see some footage from yesterday of me working with him and getting him comfortable with being touched all over. The difference from then to now is amazing.
So much progress, and we're just getting started! ā¤ļø
