Humane Society for Inland Mendocino County Board of Directors meet on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6pm at the Redwood Valley Grange, Redwood Valley, CA.

Dante!

“Dante has a heart as big as his ears.

We may have gone to the shelter thinking we wanted a different puppy, but we came home with the perfect addition to our home.

He loves our two other dogs along with the goats, chickens, and pigs.

He is full of joy. We are so happy to have him!”

✨Meet Your New Best Friends: Pebbles & Sox! ✨

These two beautiful sisters have been enjoying the good life in a wonderful foster home, and now they are officially ready to find their families! They are both incredibly sweet, lovely kittens who would make a wonderful addition to any home.

Pebbles and Sox have been relaxing offsite in their foster home, but they will be here next weekend to make their big debut! Stop by during our open hours next Saturday or Sunday to meet these sweet girls in person. But you don't have to wait to put in your applications for them!

Delilah is ready for her next chapter in life! ❤️

This very friendly almost 4 yr old girl previously lived with other dogs, kids, and cats, but sadly, her previous owner was no longer able to care for her.

Delilah recently got a little extra TLC! 🐾 She went with Kyla for some grooming and did wonderful, then headed to the vet to get shaved down and have her toe mats taken care of. Now she’s feeling SO much better!

With a fresh start and a fresh new look, Delilah is ready to find the loving family she deserves. 🥰🐶

Skippy is looking for a hero! Found on the side of the road, dehydrated with a broken leg. Luckily someone cared enough to stop and rushed him to East Hill Vet. Despite all the pain from his leg he never stopped making his little one armed biscuits! 🥹

Skippy is now splinted up and on the mend but his healing journey has just begun. We need a foster home for him to recover in- responsibilities include bi weekly splint changes at East Hill Vet, oral medications and lots of love! Skippy will reward you handsomely with his inefficient biscuit making… who needs two paws?!

Adoption Update

Emmet!

“I wanted to update you on our progress with our little man.

Emmet (formerly Angel) seemed very timid at the Humane Society and we were nervous about whether he'd come out of his shell (and literal igloo). However, we trusted that our loving and relatively calm home would help him feel safe and comfortable.

Well, it's one week and a day since we brought him home and he is growing and learning and adapting like a real champ. He first attached to me, the mom, which made sense considering his history. He is now comfortable with Isaac, my husband, when we are in Emmet's safe spaces, like his bed or favorite couch. He is starting to trust our daughter now. We think she will be the last to win his trust.

He is also getting comfortable with our kid's cat and my mom's big dog. We fenced off a small area of our property for him to run freely, and I walk him around the property a couple of times a day so he learns the area. He has also walked down each side of the street. We are taking him to one of our local trails for the first time today. I am working on clicker training with him, and he is starting to grasp it.

He sleeps snuggled up under the covers with me. He also seems to love music--my daughter said he was sleeping by her feet as she played piano and woke whenever she stopped. He is extremely playful, sweet as can be, and truly an angel, even though we changed his name to represent an equally cute and resilient character (Emmet Otter).
