🐴 HORSE CARE TIPS TUESDAY: Horses Can Get Into the Craziest Predicaments! 🩹💜

One of the most important things to remember when caring for horses is to ALWAYS stay watchful! Horses have a knack for finding the craziest ways to injure themselves, sometimes leaving us scratching our heads wondering, HOW did that even happen?! 🤦‍♀️🐎

Just a few weeks ago, we discovered that Violet had a HUGE laceration on her leg, and we had absolutely no idea how it happened! 😳

Our best guess? She may have accidentally sliced her leg on her own hoof while getting up from lying down. Yes, horses really can find the most unexpected ways to get hurt!

Thankfully, we were able to get Violet the care she needed and have her leg stitched up quickly! 💜 We were so relieved to get her taken care of and grateful that we caught the injury and could act fast.

💡 The takeaway? Even with the best care, unexpected injuries happen. That’s why daily observation, quick action, and access to veterinary care are so important when caring for horses.

🐴💚 Thankful Thursday! 💚🐴

Today, we have SO much to be thankful for because Jester has officially found his forever home! 🎉

But wait… it gets even better! Jester, now affectionately known as Rip, didn’t just find his forever family — he found a new girlfriend, too! 🥰💕

And perhaps the sweetest part of this happy ending? Rip was adopted by one of our amazing Happy Trails volunteers! 💚

There’s something extra special about watching a horse go from being part of the rescue to becoming part of the family of someone who already knows and loves them. We couldn’t be happier for Rip and his new family, and we can’t wait to see all the adventures ahead for this sweet boy.

Congratulations, Rip! We miss you around Happy Trails, but we are SO excited to watch you live your best life. 🥹🐴❤️

💚 Thankful Thursday! 💚

Today, we are feeling extra grateful for an incredible gift from JTS Animal Bedding! 🐴✨

JTS Animal Bedding generously donated 120 YARDS of bedding to Happy Trails Horse Rescue! That’s enough to keep our horses’ stalls clean, cozy, and comfortable for quite some time. 🥰

Providing the best possible care for our herd takes a village, and generous gifts like this make such a tremendous difference. We truly cannot express how grateful we are for this amazing donation and for JTS Animal Bedding supporting the horses who call Happy Trails home. ❤️

🐴 Horse Care Tip Tuesday: Horse Care Is EXPENSIVE! 💚

Anyone who has horses knows they are experts at finding new and creative ways to spend money! 😂 From hay and feed to farrier care, veterinary visits, medications, dental care, supplements, training, and everything in between, providing quality care for a herd is a big commitment.

At Happy Trails, our horses deserve the very best care we can give them — and we simply couldn’t do it without you. Every donation helps us provide the food, medical care, hoof care, and daily necessities that keep our horses happy and healthy. ❤️

We’ve also made supporting Happy Trails a little easier! We’ve switched to Zeffy, giving you more flexibility in how you donate. You can find the link in our bio!

🍻🐴 Supporter Sunday! 🐴🍻

What a night! We are so incredibly thankful to everyone who came out to Pints for Ponies at The Bite 541-678-3038 on Friday and helped make it such a huge success! 💚

Thanks to all of you, we received hundreds of dollars in donations and merch purchases, and even better, we had so many people stop by who are interested in volunteering with Happy Trails! 🥹🐴

Your support means so much to our horses and helps us continue providing them with the care, rehabilitation, and second chances they deserve.

And we’re not done yet! 🍺 We can’t wait to find out in just a few days how many pints were raised for Happy Trails thanks to GoodLife Brewing Company and Cascade Lakes Brewing Company
