❤️🐾 SOMEONE IS MISSING A VERY LOVED DOG!!!! 🐾❤️

This beautiful dog came into the City of Shasta Lake Animal Shelter as a stray, and I am DESPERATELY trying to find its person!!!!

A Good Samaritan found this dog in Summit City with this purple duck in its mouth!!! 🦆💜

Now let me tell you why I believe someone is missing their beloved family member!!!

This dog has clearly been VERY WELL CARED FOR!!! It was clean, smelled like perfume, and I even wondered if it had recently been groomed!!!

It was wearing a harness with its NAME ON IT, but unfortunately, there was NO phone number!!! It also had a leash attached!!

❤️ I KNOW IN MY HEART THIS DOG IS LOVED!!!! ❤️

For identification purposes, I am intentionally withholding the dog’s name and gender. Whoever comes forward to claim this dog will be required to provide proof of ownership!!!

Here is where my heart is struggling…

Our shelter has a 5-day stray hold, and once that hold is up, the dog can become available for adoption.

But I am having a REALLY hard time with the thought of adopting this dog out without doing everything I possibly can to find its person!!!!

Somewhere out there, someone could be desperately searching, crying, worrying, and wondering where their best friend is tonight!!! 💔

And this sweet dog can’t tell me where home is!!!

THAT PURPLE DUCK MAY BE THE KEY TO FINDING ITS FAMILY!!!! 🦆💜

Maybe someone recognizes the dog, the harness, or even that silly purple duck!!!

I don’t know the circumstances of how this dog ended up wandering around Summit City, but I DO KNOW I want to give its family every possible chance to bring it home!!!

🐾💗 A LITTLE HEART-TO-HEART FROM MY SHOP 💗🐾

I want to take a moment to be honest with my amazing clients and my Pawsitive family. 🥹🐶

I know times are tough right now. Groceries, gas, bills, everything seems to cost more these days. That’s why I am doing everything I possibly can to keep my grooming prices where they are and NOT raise them. 💕

But in order for me to keep my prices affordable, I truly need your help too. 🐾

✨ Please keep your appointments.
✨ Please give me as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule.
✨ Please show up for the appointments you book.
✨ And if you love your pup’s grooming, please tell a friend and send them my way! 🥰

I’m a small, one-on-one business, and every appointment matters. When an appointment is missed, that time and income are gone, and I can’t fill that spot at the last minute. Those little empty spaces add up quickly.

I absolutely LOVE what I do, and I don’t want to have to close my doors. 💔🐾 I want to keep pampering your babies, watching them strut out of my shop looking and feeling fabulous, and being your neighborhood dog groomer for many years to come. ✨🐩💅

***UPDATE RESCUE SECURED!!!! THIS POST WITH THIS PIC ALONE WAS THE ONE THAT GOT LUTHOR NOTICED!!! HE SEEN THIS PHOTO AND HE CRIED!!! HE KNEW LUTHOR WAS MEANT FOR HIM!!! THIS BOY IS HEADING TO TENNESSEE!!! THIS POST ALONE MADE IT TO TENNESSEE!!!! SAY WHAT????? HIS PIC MADE IT ALL THE WAY TO TENNESSEE!!!! 💙💙💙.. THIS IS WHAT SHARING DOES!!! SAVES A DOG!!!!! ***

This boy has come SO FAR since the day he arrived at the shelter as a surrender. 💔

When I first met Luthor, he was terrified of hoomans. He didn’t trust me, and getting close to him took time and patience. I tried what usually works with shelter dogs—food and treats—but Luthor wasn’t impressed.

Then one day I threw a FRISBEE. 🥏

💡 LIGHT BULB!!!

Suddenly, there was a completely different dog standing in front of me! 😂 Turns out the way to Luthor’s heart isn’t through his stomach…it’s through a FRISBEE! He LOVES to fetch, play, and just be a goofy, happy pup.

And then there’s his other obsession…WATER! 💦😂

Since Luthor was recently neutered, I had to empty the kiddie pools for a few days. Apparently Luthor did NOT agree with that decision. So what does he do?

Tries to fit his whole body into a DOG WATER BOWL. 🤣😂

Sir…YOU DO NOT FIT. 😂💦

But behind this funny picture is something that absolutely breaks my heart…

💔 LUTHOR HAS NOT HAD ONE SINGLE MEET & GREET.

Not one.

This handsome Husky/German Shepherd/Retriever mix went from a frightened dog who didn’t trust people to a happy-go-lucky, frisbee-loving, water-obsessed phenomenal boy. I have watched that transformation happen right in front of me.

Now he needs someone else to see what I see.

Please, just come MEET Luthor. Give him a chance to show you the dog he has become. He has already learned that hoomans can be good…now he needs to learn what it feels like to have a family of his own. 🥹💙

His adoption fee has been reduced to $45..

🐾 BUDDY — ADOPTION FEE $45.00
4-year-old Great Pyrenees Mix mix with a gorgeous liver-and-white coat and the cutest eyebrows! Sweet, playful and fun, Buddy also loves relaxing beside his person. He’s treat-motivated, knows how to sit and has done well with female dogs. ❤️ He does require special food for gastrointestinal issues. Buddy has an easygoing personality and would make a great dog for any type of household as long as there is a yard. He won't shed like a husky because his coat is different, but he will still shed. His hackles go up when he sees cats. We do not know how he does with cats. READY TO GO TODAY.

💙 BODIE — ADOPTION FEE $5.00
This 2-year-old Tri-Colored Rottie/Doberman mix is energetic, goofy, fun-loving and still waiting for someone to simply come meet him. He loves toys, playing and turning the kiddie pool into a muddy masterpiece. 😂💦 He doesn't do well with cats, he will try to chase them. Bodie is extremely high energy and would do well where he can get his high energy levels out. He is seeking an active hooman partner or someone with a lot of land, so he can run. Bodie doesn't do well with smaller children because he has to work on his human manners more, he likes to jump and wag his tail full speed. Bodie loves to swim and play in the water, if you are a lake person then Bodie could be a good fit for you. READY TO GO TODAY.

18-month-old Shepherd mix who has completely transformed from a terrified, unsure shelter dog into a FRISBEE FREAK! 😂 He loves fetch, could play for hours and absolutely loves the kiddie pool. Luthor has made amazing progress learning to trust people and gets along with other dogs (meet & greet required). Older, respectful children are suggested, and cats are unknown. He’s come so far — now he needs a family to keep that frisbee flying! He could make a great family dog because he is still young and learning. READY TO GO TODAY. 🥹💙

🚨💙 SCRAPPY - ADOPTION FEE $5.00
Everyone remembers Scrappy — the sweet puppy who stole hearts after being diagnosed with Megaesophagus (MegaE) and learning to eat upright in his special highchair.

Scrappy was adopted, but had to be returned due to unfortunate circumstances

Scrappy is now at risk. 🚨

We need someone experienced with MegaE and properly equipped to provide the specialized, daily care he requires. He has also lost some weight, and we are currently working with him and our vet to help get those calories back on. We started feeding him his food in a meatball form which is recommended for MegaE dogs and so far, this has been working for him and he immediately started gaining weight again. He is doing really well!💙

We love this boy, but a shelter is simply not the right long-term environment for a puppy with his medical needs. He gets adopted/rescued with his Bailey Chair.

Please someone save this boy!!! I would if i new I could afford another one. It's a forever baby dog!!

🚨 WE ARE FULL — AND SCRAPPY IS RUNNING OUT OF TIME! 🚨

As most of you know, Scrappy was returned through absolutely no fault of his own. He had been adopted, but unfortunately his adopters realized they weren’t equipped to provide the specialized care he needs.

Scrappy originally came to us as a stray, and shortly afterward he was diagnosed with Megaesophagus (MegaE).

But PLEASE understand something…

💙 MegaE does NOT define Scrappy. 💙

He is still a goofy, energetic, playful 8-month-old puppy who wants everything every other puppy wants — to play, be loved, and have a family of his own.

The biggest difference? Scrappy eats sitting upright in his Bailey Chair. His meals and feeding routine need to be managed carefully, and his future family needs to understand MegaE and be 100% committed to his lifelong care. Megaesophagus can carry serious risks, including aspiration pneumonia, so this isn’t something we want anyone going into unprepared. Upright feeding and remaining upright after meals are commonly part of managing the condition.

I have been learning right along with Scrappy, figuring out what works for him, and he has been putting weight back on. ❤️ Look at that face sitting in his Bailey Chair! He doesn’t know he’s “different.” He just knows it’s time to EAT! 😂

We are moving forward with finding either a committed adopter OR a rescue for Scrappy. An adopter needs to understand that loving Scrappy means committing to his special feeding routine and care — not just today, but for the long haul.
