CALLING ALL HAFLINGER RIDERS LOOKING FOR A CALM, SENSIBLE RIDING PARTNER. Norwind MDH (Nerd) is doing amazingly well in training and is ready for a rider who wants to relax and ride. This gelding is going to be a true partner for trail. He has a smooth walk, trot, canter. Knows his leads. enjoys trail time/water/obstacles. He will go out alone without issue. Nerd stands just under 14.2 (14.1 1/2") He is learning all about riding western on a loose rein and simple O ring snaffle bit. He is carrying himself well and understands leg and seat pressure. Nerd is definitely more SLOW than go. His preferred speed is walk and whoa. With that said he will give a lovely jog, extended trot and will canter on command.
Yes, his sire is known for form and height in jumping but Nerd did not take to that energy. His world would be best with a person who wants to enjoy trails, light arena work, lots of braiding and brushing and bonding. Nerd does enjoy water and could care less about dogs/cats/llamas/chickens/peafowl etc running all around him. He is in training at this time to improve his leg/seat/forward motion. If you like the relaxed type of Haflinger horse this boy will suit you. HE is NOT a finished, show ready horse. He is not a babysitter (yet), He is not for a beginner rider or a person with fear issues (yet). Nerd is 7 years old, has had LOTS of handling but not lots of saddle time. He has been ridden consistently for the last 90 days by Dana Beckner and it is SOLID training pushing him to see where he is comfortable and then some. If you are looking for a horse that has had a great start and is ready to move on to any discipline that you want to explore take a look at NERD.
