We are excited that Athena got to participate in this new program through Pet Coalition of Ellis County. Awesome idea and Athena has to get a home after this! She is gorgeous and has a great personality!

Come meet her❤️

Check out ATHENA! Look at those icy blue eyes! She is waiting for her new furever home over with the good people at Red Oak Animal Care and Control ! This pic was part of her photoshoot over at Barking Dog Studios with The Adoption Portrait Project! Matt is an amazing photographer using his superpowers for good and helping capture special moments with these pets that you just might not see in a shelter setting. Interested? The best way to care for wildlife is to leave it wild. 🦆 Pearson Pond is home to ducks, geese, and other wildlife that help make our park a special place to visit. While feeding them may seem harmless, it can actually create challenges for both the animals and park visitors.

Feeding ducks and geese can:
🦆 Increase aggressive behavior
🌿 Harm their health
💧 Pollute the pond
⚠️ Create unsafe conditions for visitors

To help protect our wildlife and keep Pearson Park enjoyable for everyone, new signs will soon be installed around the pond as a reminder to admire wildlife from a distance and let them find their own natural food sources.

Thank you for helping keep our wildlife wild.
