Hi there all!! We are looking for someone to give one of pups a ride to the vet tomorrow and stay with him then bring him back to the shelter.

His name is Scooby and he is a medium sized puppy going to VCA Desoto tomorrow at 9am.

We are excited that Athena got to participate in this new program through Pet Coalition of Ellis County. Awesome idea and Athena has to get a home after this! She is gorgeous and has a great personality!

Every one of these guys is available for adoption now! They get along well with other dogs and all have great personalities.

These are the last two of the “bobtail” litter and their momma, Nala.
The kitten with the tail is a male, BigWig and the bobtail is a female, Pipkin.

All 3 are ready to go home now! Adoptions fees are waived for the remainder of this month.❤️

The best way to care for wildlife is to leave it wild. 🦆 Pearson Pond is home to ducks, geese, and other wildlife that help make our park a special place to visit. While feeding them may seem harmless, it can actually create challenges for both the animals and park visitors.

Feeding ducks and geese can:
🦆 Increase aggressive behavior
🌿 Harm their health
💧 Pollute the pond
⚠️ Create unsafe conditions for visitors

To help protect our wildlife and keep Pearson Park enjoyable for everyone, new signs will soon be installed around the pond as a reminder to admire wildlife from a distance and let them find their own natural food sources.

We are excited for this new program and Athena got to go this morning to take advantage of the opportunity! Thank you to all mentioned and to volunteers Mick and Nancy for giving her a ride this morning!

Thanks to the support & amazing photography skills of Matt Morris The Adoption Portrait Project we are starting a new program called PCEC PARTNER PICKS - Matt is capturing the unique personalities of some pets in need of more exposure, to help them find their FUR ever homes! Remember Carl? The gorgeous heeler Matt posted photos of? We shared with one of out out of state partners, and he was immediately scooped up and is living the good life out in Colorado now!
Additionally, our junior volunteers, called our KINDNESS CREW are spearheading this project (along with thier parents of course) and are helping during the photo shoot. HUGE shout out to Lily and family John Lemón Jennifer Lemón for running point on this fun new program. These photos will be sent to all of our out of state rescue partners in hopes of capturing the eye of a foster or adopter.
