We had some lovely comments come in from Shawn Wiegard Liefer regarding the pool and would like to share:
"I would like to send a huge shoutout to those involved in making the Red Bud pool great again! My sister and I have been going to lap swim for the last 15 years or so. All of the improvements made to the pool lately have not gone unnoticed. We even had full lanes at lap swim today! The water is clearer than ever, the bathhouses are cleaner than ever and the new vacuum is doing an excellent job! I have also noticed when we leave, the pool is filling up again with families, and those who just want to enjoy the water. They have floats and toys for the kids. If you haven’t checked out the pool in a few years, I highly recommend it. They also offer water aerobics for those who are interested. As a child, I grew up at the Red Bud pool and it is great to see it has made a comeback. I am happy to see families making memories again, just like I did. Thank you again to everyone who made this happen!"

Attention Coming Soon.
In April, the council enacted two ordinances aimed at addressing safety concerns and parking restrictions at the four-way intersection of Market and Main Streets. One ordinance designates automatic tow-away zones, thereby prohibiting parking in the already restricted yellow-curbed area, and authorizes vehicles to be towed by tow companies in the absence of a law enforcement officer. The second ordinance establishes temporary parking zones for the purpose of dropping off and picking up individuals. These ordinances will be enforced once the requisite signage is installed; until then, the yellow curb remains a no-parking zone, and citations may be issued.

The City of Red Bud was recognized by the Illinois Municipal Utilities Association (IMUA) for receiving and American Public Power Association (APPA) Diamond Award in the national electric utilities trade association's "Safety Awards of Excellence" competition.
