Mark your calendars! Join us next Saturday, June 6 to celebrate California Adopt-a-Pet Day, with waived adoption fees for all available animals. Don’t miss this chance to bring home your new best friend!

Available animals are updated in real time, so keep an eye on our website to see the pets that will be available for adoption June 6th.

The shelter will be open extended hours as part of this statewide event! Adoption fees will be waived on June 6 from 11AM to 5PM, made possible by the generosity of the ASPCA. Licensing fees will apply.

We trapped this dog in Rancho Tehama, near the end of Rancho Tehama Road. He is not chipped. He is being taken to Tehama County Animal Care Center.

Earlier this week, we were able to help Nikko’s family with end of life care. His dad reached out because he was clearly suffering and he wasn’t able to access a vet for euthanasia.

This evening his dad sent these pictures; the first the day he was adopted and the second is when he was struggling to walk in his final days but just wanted to be close to his dad.

We are so grateful to be able to help families like this.

Hi everyone,
My name is Biggie. My owner asked a friend to watch me for a couple of days and then moved out of the state leaving me behind. The girls at Buster’s didn’t want my babysitter to lose his apartment for having me and said they would find me a new home. I’m about a year old, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and neutered. I know all the basic commands and love to make people happy. Sometimes I get a little excited and need to be reminded to calm down but I try really hard to listen and do what I’m told.
If you could be my new family and would like to meet me just message the page and Colleen will set us up to meet!
I know it’s not tongue out Tuesday but I wanted to show off that’s clearly my day. Hope to hear from you soon!!!

Six years ago, a dog that had only been in Nichole’s life for 8 months crossed the Rainbow Bridge. It was an absolutely devastating loss because it had felt like his string of bad luck that was his life was maybe turning around and he had his forever home.

Everyone that met Buster Brown loved him. No matter what was wrong with him, he acted like every day was the best day of his life.

Today is officially Buster Brown Day, the day we celebrate the impact his short life is having on other dogs in community.

Buster Brown, we hope someone in doggy heaven is emptying your growl box today. 🌈

This morning we transported this sweet girl to our friends Copper's Dream Rescue. Safe to say she’s happy to be enjoying the sunshine. ☀️

When we started doing Buster Brown Day, our goal was to one day be able to host a clinic where unhoused clients could bring their dogs to be seen by a vet. This year was that year. 💜

Thanks to a grant from the Animal Welfare Endowment Fund at Community Foundation of the North State, 32 animals received exams. We administered:
23 rabies vaccines
25 bordatella vaccines
6 microchips
26 flea and tick treatments
12 doses of dewormer
2 osurnia ear treatments

Thanks to Petco Love we were able to provide 26 distemper parvo vaccines.

And the biggest thanks of all to Dr. Fox for providing each owner with exams, time to ask questions, and making each of our clients feel comfortable.
