If you have met Dr. Ruskin you have probably heard her say at least once “Don’t get anything that goes on or in your pet’s body from Amazon or other third party sellers like Ebay, Temu and Walmart third party sellers.” Why? Because she herself and her pets were victims of counterfeit products from these sites. Pets have died from counterfeit product, had seizures, or got toxic injury symptoms. How to protect you and your pets?
1. Call the manufacturer of the product to confirm you are purchasing from an official seller. Unfortunately sellers can say they represent that company when they don’t.
2. Only buy things that state they are sold and shipped by Amazon.
3. Nothing from China. Amazon lists the sellers address but you have to dig for it
4. Buy from stores like Chewy, PetSmart, PetCo that purchase direct from manufacturers. Or in the case of Flea/tick prevention purchase from your vet. Also local stores like Barkley’s are a safe option and you are supporting a local store that way. Below is just one example. Everything from toys, food, treats, supplements, flea collars, toothpaste, ear meds etc have counterfeit examples on Amazon. All of the above applies to people too. Companies are starting to fight back but criminals always seem to be one step ahead.

We didn’t get to see any black cats today for National Black Cat Day but we sure did enjoy meeting Santi Saige. What a handsome man he will grow up to be. We couldn’t decide which picture to use so here ya go lol.
