As daylight decreases and routines change, some cats may nap more, while others become restless or look for extra ways to burn energy. A few simple enrichment activities can help keep them mentally stimulated and physically active all season long.

Try adding a cozy window perch for bird watching, scheduling a short interactive play session each day, or introducing a puzzle feeder to make mealtime more engaging. Small changes can make a big difference in your cat's overall well-being.

What does your cat love most: watching birds, chasing toys, or climbing to the highest spot in the house? Let us know! 🐱

🐕🦴 Canine Anatomy Spotlight: Psoas Major Muscle

The psoas major muscle is an important muscle located along the lumbar region of the dog’s spine. It works closely with the iliacus muscle to form the iliopsoas muscle group, which plays a major role in flexion of the hip joint and movement of the hind limb.

💡 Why is it important?
The iliopsoas helps stabilize the lumbosacral region and contributes to powerful movements such as running, jumping, climbing, and extending the hind limb during locomotion. Injury or strain of this muscle group can cause pain, reduced performance, stiffness, and hind-limb movement abnormalities.

📚 Understanding muscles, bones, and joints is essential for every veterinary student and small-animal practitioner.
