You’ll notice this with a very brief startle and then recovery with Min and Bec. At three weeks old puppies can see and hear. We have discontinued ENS. We are now utilizing their startle recovery response. At this stage, puppies startle but then quickly recover. We employ this a couple times a day to help build resilience in puppies. “Experiencing mild, safe startles with immediate "bounce-back" helps puppies learn how to cope with unexpected events, reducing the likelihood of severe phobias or anxiety later in life.”
This is really our foundation for what most consider socialization. Now that they can see, we also introduce a new item into the welding box every day. It might be a toy or a book, something they could interact with an explorer.
Again this is not fool proof but, simple steps we can take to build confidence in puppies.

Happy Mush Day! Puppies are trying their first meal outside of nursing. No surprise big Lou is all about this meal. 😅
We use puppy kibble soaked in formula and blended. We make sure there are no solid chunks. This is where things get messy and lots of fun. It’s nice to help momma out with a feeding too. Over the next 2 weeks these puppies will transition over to full solid food.
