🦜❤️ In Loving Memory of Sebastian (“Grandma”) ❤️🦜
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of a very special member of our Mt. Rushmore Birds family, Sebastian, affectionately known as “Grandma.”
Living to her mid-sixties, Sebastian lived a long and remarkable life. For over 20 years, she was a beloved companion to our family and a constant presence in our store.
Many of you will remember Sebastian perched on her tree near the front of the store, spending her days alongside us, watching the hustle and bustle, and greeting familiar faces. She was more than just a bird in our store; she was part of what made Mt. Rushmore Birds feel like home.
Above all, Sebastian shared an incredibly special bond with Barb. She was deeply devoted to her and loved nothing more than cuddling up against her chest, content to simply be close to her favorite person. Their companionship spanned more than two decades, and the love and trust they shared was something truly special to witness.
Throughout the years, Sebastian also participated in many educational programs, helping us share our love and appreciation for these incredible birds with others.
She was not much of a talker, but every now and then, she would surprise us with a “Hi,” “Hello,” or “Step up.” And, of course, she always enjoyed sharing lunchtime with us.
It's hard to imagine the store without her. After so many years of having her by our side, her absence will be felt in all the little moments of our everyday lives.
Rest peacefully, sweet Sebastian. Thank you for the memories, the companionship, and the many years you spent as part of our family. You will be deeply missed and forever loved. ❤️
For those of you who remember Sebastian, we would love to hear your favorite memories of her in the comments. 🦜
