🏗️ THE ADVANTAGE OF A PURPOSE-BUILT FACILITY!

One of the greatest advantages of building a pet care facility from the ground up is that you don't have to figure out how to make a building accommodate animals when it was never designed for them in the first place!

From our play areas and sanitation procedures to the materials beneath their paws, we had the opportunity to plan for the unique demands of caring for animals every single day.

🌱 IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT THE TURF. IT'S ABOUT WHAT'S UNDERNEATH IT!

At Meadow Ridge, we didn't simply roll out artificial turf over an existing concrete surface or lay it directly on the ground and call it a day...we invested in commercial-grade pet turf AND a professionally engineered and designed drainage system beneath it!

And that distinction matters more than you might think!

Let's face it. When you have dogs playing throughout the day, urine and pet waste are simply part of the equation. So are the frequent cleaning and washdowns necessary to maintain a sanitary environment.

Our turf and underlying drainage system were designed to work together to help manage water, support our regular washdowns, and reduce moisture accumulation on and beneath the playing surface.

💧 Professionally Designed Drainage – Not simply turf placed over concrete or existing ground, but a drainage system beneath the surface designed to help manage water and cleaning runoff.

🧼 Designed With Sanitation in Mind – Our turf and drainage system are designed to help prevent moisture and urine from accumulating beneath the surface, reducing conditions that can contribute to bacterial buildup and unpleasant odors while supporting our regular cleaning and washdowns.

🌿 Less Mud, Less Standing Water – Helping provide a cleaner, more comfortable environment for our four-legged guests.

Of course, no drainage system replaces proper cleaning, disinfecting, and waste removal. But having a facility designed from the beginning to support those procedures makes a difference!

We are incredibly excited to announce that your Meadow Ridge Pet Lodge is officially a proud sponsor of the Rapid City Rush for the 2026–2027 hockey season! ❤️🐾

When we opened Meadow Ridge, our vision was about more than creating a locally owned and operated Premier Pet Lodge for pets the Black Hills residents could be proud of.

🎃🐾 HALLOWEEN TREATS CAN COME WITH SCARY SURPRISES! 🍬👻

We all know chocolate can be dangerous for dogs, but candy wrappers can be just as concerning.

Swallowed wrappers can cause choking or intestinal blockages, and our furry family members aren't exactly known for carefully unwrapping their treats! 😂

🐾 A few Halloween safety reminders:

🍫 Keep ALL Halloween candy away from pets! Chocolate, candy containing xylitol, and raisins are especially dangerous. Even other sweets and their wrappers can cause serious problems.
🍬 Keep candy wrappers and trash out of reach.
🎃 Store Halloween treats somewhere curious paws can't reach!
🚨 If you suspect your pet swallowed candy or wrappers, contact your veterinarian promptly. Don't wait for symptoms!

🐶 DOES HALLOWEEN STRESS OUT YOUR DOG?

Between doorbells, costumes, and constant excitement, Halloween isn't every dog's favorite holiday!
