Our trip to Guadalajara to save 120 dogs at ST VINCENT rescue was a hard fought effort. It took us two weeks to obtain permits for the bus to go into MEXICO. The border police have never seen a bus with 100 carriers in it to rescue animals. After weeks of discussions with many hole in the wall DMV like offices we finally obtained an RV permit and were on our way. Our driver Pail Riend speaks Spanish, navigated the whole permit process.

25 hours later we arrived in Guadalajara. Lawrence the shelter manager had all the dogs vaccinated and ready for the trip to houston.

At 4am the next morning we loaded the dogs and headed for houston. 12 hours later we arrived at the Laredo Border crossing. Unfortunately the US border police didn’t know what to make of us and so it took 10 hours of haggling to clear customs.

We arrived in houston at about 9pm. Alayna and her crew at Three Little Pitties took delivery of the dogs. All the dogs arrived safely. Now the dogs will need much grooming and dental and such to make them ready for their trip to Washington state where they will all be adopted to good homes where they will live good lives with appreciative adopters.

Hi, we spent several hours putting the vaccines and worm kill in the 120 dogs. Here are a few photos from the event. They will soon be on their way to forever homes in the U.S.

This email is from a rescue group in San Felipe Mexico. We agreed to pickup 30 dogs at the Calexico CA border crossing yesterday. We transported the dogs to rescue groups in Fortuna, Eureka, and Brookings OR. We will continue the save Mexican animals by transport. The dogs we transported were all great dogs that will live wonderful lives in the forested california coastline.

We are working on a mass transport of 200+ dogs from a New York expat and animal lover in Guadalajara that has been saving unwanted dogs for years. We will be making the 24 hour drive down there and then take them to our network of northern state receiving organizations.

Oregon loves our big dogs and said "after arriving everyone got a warm bath, warm food and were
put to bed with toys and warm blankets".

Sequoia said everyone is settling down and loving the attention of her staff.

30 dogs were rescued from two different locations where illegal vet operations were being performed at what police call a puppy mill.
