It breaks my heart to have to write this.
Early this morning, our sweet little Holstein passed away.
Despite every ounce of love, every feeding, every sleepless night, every medication, every prayer, and every tiny victory along the way, his little body simply couldn't overcome the challenges he was born with.
Holstein was different. In all the decades I've been raising puppies, I've experienced every part of the cycle of life. I've celebrated miracles, and I've mourned heartbreaking losses. But this little boy was different. Somehow, in just 3 weeks and 2 days, he changed me.
He spent those 3 weeks and 2 days proving that statistics don't always get the final word. Every single gram gained, every quiet breath, every little milestone, and every new day felt like a victory. He reminded me to celebrate the smallest wins and to never stop fighting, even when the odds seemed impossible.
Thank you to every single person who followed his journey, prayed for him, sent messages, donated to his wishlist, celebrated his victories, cried through the setbacks, and loved him right alongside me. Your kindness carried us through some incredibly difficult days, and I will never be able to express how much that meant.
Holstein knew nothing but warmth, gentle hands, comfort, and unconditional love for every moment of his life. While his time here was far too short, he was deeply loved from his very first breath to his very last.
Today, we laid Holstein to rest beside his sister beneath our white roses. It felt like the most peaceful place I could give him, where every bloom will forever remind me of two little lives that changed my heart in ways I never expected.
My heart is shattered, and I know so many of you will share in this heartbreak because you loved our little moo cow too.
Run free, sweet Holstein. Thank you for changing me. You will forever be a part of my heart. 🤍🖤🐄
