As the 2025ā2026 deer season comes to a close, itās hard to put into words just how grateful I am. This season was filled with long nights, early mornings, cold hands, muddy boots, and miles that tested both body and heartābut I wouldnāt trade a single step of it.
Thank you to every hunter who trusted us in their most uncertain moments. Calling for help after a shot is never easy, and I never take lightly the responsibility you place in me. Whether the track was short and sweet or long and humbling, every single one mattered. Every deer mattered. And every call reminded me why this work means so much.
Iām incredibly proud of the dog beside me. Watching her work through brutal conditions, tough terrain, no blood, bad weather, fences, pressure, and exhaustion is something that never gets old. She gives everything she has, every time, without question. She doesnāt know what season it is or how late itās gottenāshe just knows itās time to work, and she does it with heart, grit, and loyalty that canāt be taught.
This season wasnāt perfect. Not every track ended the way we hoped. Those ones stay with me the most. But even in those moments, Iām reminded that doing things the right way mattersābacking out, giving time, respecting the animal, and exhausting every ethical option. Iām honored to be part of that process with people who care as deeply as I do.
To the friends made, the familiar voices on the phone, the repeat callers who feel more like family nowāthank you. To the new faces who took a chance on usāthank you. To those who waited patiently, trusted the process, and stood in the dark with hopeāthank you.
As we hang up the leashes and let the boots dry out for a bit, know that none of this is taken for granted. This season changed me in ways I didnāt expect, reminded me of why passion matters, and reinforced that this isnāt just a serviceāitās a responsibility.
Hereās to the memories, the lessons, the successes, the heartbreaks, and the moments that made this season unforgettable. Weāll rest, reset, and be ready when the call comes again.
Until next seasonāthank you from the bottom of my heart. š¦
