Josue Daniel Bolanos Lopez is missing and urgently needs medical care.
Daniel has encephalopathy, a serious brain condition that can cause confusion, memory loss, disorientation, and impaired judgment. He was discharged from the hospital only two weeks ago and is extremely vulnerable.
He was recently detained after being accused of being “under the influence.” His medical condition can cause behavior and symptoms that may look like intoxication, and we were told that no chemical or medical testing was done to confirm.
Before his release, his family explicitly warned the facility that Daniel cannot safely be left alone or released without supervision because of his medical condition. Despite those warnings, he was released alone. He is now missing and unable to safely find his way home.
We have a doctor’s statement confirming that Daniel is in grave danger without appropriate care. The police are refusing to issue a Silver Alert, claiming his disappearance isn’t “suspicious,” despite a formal doctor’s statement proving he is at severe risk of a medical crisis. His cognitive impairment means he may not understand where he is or be able to navigate to safety.
